Title: The Amazing Soldier.
Post by: Mister Schmidt on July 11, 2010, 06:40:21 pm
During 1944, a squad of highly trained experienced soldiers were on a patrol in enemy territory. These soldiers were special, because they held the most prestigious award The Third Reich could offer its soldiers - The Knights Cross.
Whilst travelling throught the open countryside, a loud shot rang out, and a bullet whizzed towards a member of the squad, namely Oberleutnant Kreunz. It hit him square in the face, passed through his skull, through his brain, and exploded out the other side, leaving half his face on the floor in the process. Now, for a normal soldier, this would be fatal. But not to Oberleutnant Kreunz. He was of course, a KCH, and as such had been in a few fights and had had some experience before. So, naturally, he shrugged off the wound and continued onwards, oblivious to the fact that his face was now utterly destroyed. He apprehended the perpetrator of his face, and gunned him down with his MP44 Sturmgewehr. The squad then continued onwards, commenting on how Kreunz new facial features really suited him.

Its a ridiculous story,

A bullet hitting you square in the face, would take out all the most important functions of your brain, you would either be a vegetable instantly or die. People do survive gunshots to the head, but thats usually when the bullet goes through the back side of the brain.

I'm just waiting for someone to understand what I'm trying to say with this story.

Want me to make another story?

Once upon a time a god decided to create an utter british company. This said company was lead by a fearsome and young lieutnant, named Will Rogers. As this company been deployed in german ground, they spotted severals lightly anti tanks guns. Unfortunately for them, they were already too far away. The heroic lieutnant then had an idea: He started to shout, and therefor everybody around him start to avoid bullets and run faster. On that time, an angry german sniper was utterly annoyed by the said lieutnant, and decided to blow his head off. As the high caliber bullet bounced off Will Rogers's head, he turned, slowly, after the one that dared aimed at him... He gaves orders, and after a mere seconds, the sniper was blown by piats, rifles grenades and counter-snipe shots.

Buggered

a Tym story.

A Lone Tiger II, the Koneig, or King Tiger on its last legs after an encounter with several Sherman's and Bazookas pummeling it, its engine blown, tracks out commander killed, waited for engineer reinforcements to come back and repair it. Tt was about down to 5% of its armor and one hit by any type of anti tank weaponry would take it down, luckily it still had its 88mm gun.

A mile away, a wild M-10 appeared, the crew licked its chops sensing an easy kill, as the m-10 moves into range, the crew in the Tiger knew they were dead, with it's 8in gun, no way the m-10 wouldn't take them out but they were going to go down fighting! They swiveled the gun to point towards the m-10, the m10 crew fires "Plink!" no penetration, the Tiger crew fires, takes a good chunk out of the m-10 but it's still moving. The m-10 crew figures that he needs to go to the rear armor as they circle around, the stop and fire, always a penetrating hit with their huge gun "pink!" nothing, the tiger crew sees an opportunity, swivels and fires, m-10 down! For an hour, Ranger squads, a random Airborne and a grew Shremans all go down to the Heroic crew immobilized and smoking, taking several hit but not dying they're really feeling themselves, they're veterans now, they know they will be awarded with the Knight Cross when they get back but they first must defend their tank against all targets.

Later that day, a lone patrol comes by a squad of jeeps, they all look at the carnage and shake their heads, not being able to believe what's gone on, no one bothers to fire except one gunner, who angrily fires at the Tiger, knowing that nothing would happen but wanting to "get back" somehow, then "fwoom!" the Tiger II goes up in flames and explodes like it was hit with a bomb, the patrol looks around looking for a plane, another tank, maybe one of those experimental Pershing's but there's nothing except the lone jeep gunner who fired, as the Tiger burns one of the crew looks out and notices the name-tag on the gunners lapel John D... "and with my last breath, I curse Zoidberg!" he screams and falls onto the ruined hull of his Tiger...dead.

:D

Yeah, thats basically where i got the basis of my idea from lol and from saving private ryan where he was shooting his pistol and he blew up the tiger but it was really a plane, hence them looking around for one

Could have made it more obious he was sniped, You make me think of a normal rifleman ambushed him.

Even so, a shot to the face would still be fatal.

As if a Garand was incapable of a lethal headshot ::)

Considering we ARE operating under CoH here - I guess darksoldier was just confused by the fact that it wasn't made clear a sniper had shot the KCH guy to the face. In CoH garands aren't particularly known for one-shotting people, now are they - whereas quite the opposite can be said of the sniper rifle.

Yea, cause you know, you need to get a headshot to remove a human from a battle....or anything that hits them pretty much does it. These are all 7.92 or 7.62 rounds and larger for the most part, full rifle cartridges at that. So yea. But if every gun in the game was as lethal as it was in real life we would need a much better game engine to make it fun than what CoH provides.

It's really a waste of time arguing realism in COH or EIR.

True. If we want to do that we should go on Men of War forums and argue that chest shots to unarmoured soldiers only take away 40% HP.
