you never played it.

I tried it, but then I realised I like to play games that are fun, rather than looking at numbers on a board.

You know math or quantum physics can also be fun but you need to understand it first.

If you start from 1936 it can be boring if you don't know how to play but I always start from 1936.

To start from 1936 u must have same plan, which u will realize 3 year before a madness begins. Start as German and fallow the history. Or start as Argentina to build a south nazy fortress. Especially funny with friends.

Fun fact, the only reason why Argentina supported the germans back at the time was because it benefit them economically.

OK, train your rusty arses before the this weekend, sunday or saturday, we shall decide at friday.

Let's gather huge reserve of people so if someone won't be able to play at this weekend will be replaced by someone from reserve list.

The target is to get a game going every weekend.

buying AoD for most people is impossible, due to no avability of this game in their countries, so ...

you can even get it on steam noob

Yeah Draken, it's not hard to find the game cheap and readily available without turning into a pirate.

50% right there. If you like those games so much, support the developer by buying their game.

BTW HOI 3 was a much worse version of HOI 2, while AOD is pretty much HOI 2 but improved 1000x

Its a real-time full world strategy where you gotta build up your war-infrastructure (including roads and factories) produce units, research tech and fight massive engagements. While fighting the war, manage supply lines and naval routes hoping you don't get picked off by subs.

scariest match i ever had against the pc (who is f****** smart btw) i was playing Canada it was 1939 who i have found out how to turn into a big war machine. creating my joint invasion force looked over and noticed a fog of war over half of britain, by the time i could bring my force to help, the Axis had already won.

Then russia allied with the Axis and by 1945 the US and I were allied fighting off invasions on both seaboards. I had some nukes, but was unable to strike at anywhere important by the 1950's it was looking pretty bad, but by the time game had ended we had managed to push them off of North America.

Forgot to mention, Nationalist Spain won the Spanish Civil War and Britain wasn't wholly defeated they were holding out in india with help of the small remaining american supported china group, (rest of china had fallen to the Fascist faction)

Australia had held out but it looked like it was about to fall just as the game ended

I really just couldn't get into the game, would have needed someone to sit me through the learning phases ... and never tried

Honestly the biggest problem is that it will take about a month or two to play a match spending about 2-4 hours a day playing

Not counting when you get into those really sensitive moments when you get a pocket of troops cut off and you decide to start trying to supply drop to them

i think he means in multiplayer

people need to be very disciplined to play such games in multiplayer

its even more extreme than playing civilization in multiplayer

for civ IV there is enough when you play it a night on weekend together but in HoI2 (probably in AoD same but i don't have it since its basically a modded HoI2) you'll need many nights to play one game session

HoI3 isn't as bad as people say in this thread it had just a bit buggy AI on release and needs a very strong CPU

since patch 1.4 its good playable when you own a strong CPU (dual or quadcore >3Ghz)

Oh ok, so the game has to have a mature community...
