we can only allot reward points, of which you can spend on any unit, multiple of the same units if you wanted afaik.

There's some discussion going on about giving a reward point out for every 10 games that are played by EIRRMOD needs to code it first.

Dum dum dum!....

PP sink. Not a bad idea actually - Especially for companies with a lack of off-maps and find themselves with increasingly ridiculous amounts of PP's after being at level 9.

Reward points are SOLELY for me to put in a testing platform for Warmap abilities.

Thats it ;)

They wont exist in the final version, except for mods or admins to boost accounts

though, reward points are not what people are asking about primarily. they're asking to get to try the new reward units. they just see the reward points as a control or currency system for accessing those.

Oh right, I missed that then =)

I can introduce a reward system that gives people points for games or something sometimes - then people can occasionally play with them.

Lets get the main mechanics in first - warmap that is , and then there will be time for smaller things like this imo

not really a small thing, reward units need to be tested they should be used more

the thing is that unlimited testing has upset the community in the past. sql-made accounts for balance advisors etc created outrage. the vocal members of the community created a understanding in the lead devs that it was unwarranted. obviously the real way to test a unit or doctrine abilities is to play normal games with it. but this was weighted against this type of concern, and the latter won out with the lead devs. people felt some players were favorised. trust obviously didn't exist, or the agreement that it was neccessary.

some of it is traceable back to incorrect behavour like not notifying that special units/doctrine choices will be used before a game. but then again, what players inform the opposing team of what they will be deploying and using, and what doctrine choices they have? the main difference is that there's no rational way to expect a unit from a doctrine that you don't know about or havent seen before - other than it's exactly like any other game.

community accusations and upset like described in this post stand out to me as the main reason testing has now become plagued by protocol and irrational rules

Smokaz, i'm just for getting rp's someway and if i can get them, anyone can get them but because units are limited, you couldn't just go ahead and spam them, they do need to be tested but within a real game play environment.

This is not a sentiment shared by the dev team sadly, at least not by action

And its directly caused by hapless complaints

Damnit Tym, didnt you know, we don't test anything in this game!

We just use whatever, then we remake it all, then we play with that for a bit, then remake it all. Testing is for sissies! Here at EIR we just do random stuff and hope it works!

I fully support the idea of giving everyone some RPs to mess around with for a while, so we can balance the units out.

+1

And if i am not mistaken, only a very small minority/number of players have even had the opportunity to check/play with 2 rp points during the campaign. Right ? So this means an even smaller number of actual reward units that have been used.
