idk if its a fake or not but i dont want to lose my steam account and i havnt cheated on anything. Srry if this wasnt a good place to ask this but i have no one to help me with it. i also thought it might just b saying that their checking all steam accounts for it but can any1 plz help i have less than 24hrs.

yea i got something like this half a year ago and some guy told me to say him my account name and password, i just told him to fuck off and he said that i would get banned or something, nothing ever happend  ;D

Your in the clear, it's a phishing scam. Your Steam stores Credit information(for some) and you'd be fucked if you lost that.

Check the website for yourself. All the Links direct you to the actual Steam website, not the fake facade this group has up.

If you've already used their link and submitted information contact Steam Support ASAP and change your password and personal information.

It's good to contact Steam Support anyway and inform them of the scam

k good. i did enter my password and log in on the steam web thing also i dont think they were smart by sending it to me at 2am in the morning. plus i havnt been playing any steam games online since my computer got a virus and i just got it fixed and i have only played a couple games with only 1 of my friends and a computer

Not only Valve but pretty much any company/website that you registered to wouldn't need your account information, I mean they already have it.

Also complaints is not what gets you banned on steam. They have VAC anti cheat software and other stuff so once you use hacks ingame on a secure server you'll get banned.

Silly thread, it's obviously a scam, it's like those emails you get saying your account may have been compromised, please follow this link and give us your username and password.

No company ever asks for that info via email. Blizzard does it, Relic does it, many companies have policies that they will NEVER ASK for those info.  At most a username for a support ticket, but they will not ask for your social, your password, etc... FYI.

If you're still worried about this, well you're really worrying over nothing and it is just a waste of time for yourself.

Also, if you work at Valve, it should be very obvious its a scam as it would be against company policy.  In addition, check the email address too that the supposed email comes from.  If you get an email that's something like chaser21223@americabank.com, well I'm FAIRLY CERTAIN it is not from bank of america, for example...

great the web has just now just now a day after i did what it was told and was made exactly like steam has just now been reported for web forgery. grrrrrrr can anyone tell me how to get my account back or at least if theres anyone to contact because im 99% sure i'm being hacked and i can't get on steam i was barely able to contact them about it.

i didnt put my credit card stuff in. it said it was steam so i logged in there and it pulled up my account. I had all the stuff like friends, i had my library, community, and i could shop so i thought i was at steam but it must have been a copy. I sent the company an email. Also i put my logged in after i put this on here the first 1. So how was i suppose to know a web site that look exactly like the regular web site and i could do all the stuff there that i could have on the old cuz i downloaded steam so it has its own icon on my desktop. also @ TheIcelandicMan yes but i have company of heros opposing fronts cd but company of heroes  and company of heros tales of valor are on steam. Also i have company of heroes joint operations and company of heros eastern front mods. But i lost, all my empire total war extras like warpath, and some of the other downloads they had for it but luckly i have empire total war so i didnt lose that but i lost alien swarm, and mafia 2 demo but those were free so i dont care bout them.

We told you not to do it, and you went ahead and did it anyways.  You never put your info into anything via email, no company ever does that, especially when you say you're a member of Valve.. you should know better.

You are going to have to call customer support and deal with it, your problem and really your fault for being - no offense - gullible.  You'll need to deal with the CS Rep and confirm things over the phone to regain control over your account.

ok.  i didnt give them my email,  i logged in thinking it was steam after i clicked the x on the box not to close firefox but to get me back to steam (which i thought was steam) i logged in there. also i did this BEFORE i asked cuz i didnt know what to do and one of my steam friends and their group said they got the same message from the person that sent it to me and they did this and nothing happened to their computer, credit cards, or steam account

Look, if at anytime you are concerned by the actions of a major company just contact their customer support dude, its a simple e-mail and they will prob have all the info about whats going on.

Valve only informs you on steam by a pop up message, they stopped mailing due to this sort of thing..
Valve never mails you if you dont mail them first.

And as brn said, i advice everyone to uncheck steam credit saving, i will do the same, never thought of that.
I only thought it got stored at my pc itself.

this topic still went on wow. but now im mad at valve cuz i bought empire total war and napolian total war and when i got a virus like in january i had to instal them again. but it wouldnt let me cuz of the activation code had already been used so i complained and i kept getting switch between two people. then a week later they tell me to send them the recipe, show disk, show box as in photo and then a bunch of other stuff and i bought it at best buy not on steam. and they still keep saying i could have stole it and all i can do is spend a little less that $100 but im not going to rebuy it. but they still havnt helped me at all

You need to make sure you are signing in to the Account that you bound your game to before the virus.

i didnt say i didnt like it the eir mod. i meant was that im trying to get 1 mod at a time just i case if they have a virus and my steam friends forced me to get the blitz one first. they both have good things about them, eir u get ur own company, in the blitz mod u can get new units with new skins and doc.

if you want new skins you could allways just download Groundfires skinpack(he needs to update it with more skins TBFH)

Does this look like the third Reich building? im going to add more damage to it. part of it troops can go on the roof and inside im still adding minor designs in it and im going to add defenses around it and im going to make another version of it but without u being able to go inside for EIR maybe. (for regular map troops can capture victory point or another point there). also the 2 openings let troops get inside it
