Title: Your AB company and tactics
Post by: Poppi on May 25, 2011, 11:00:41 am
Just started to take my AB company more seriously. And playing it alot more. But im a little confused how to use them.

I like to use:
Glider Rifleman- They are better at getting the drop on inf in the back with their bars. IE nebels and mortar crews. So i like them. Can their glider knock out a building garrisoned by the enemy and kill the enemy?

AB MG and AB mortars- Not sure what their stats in attack, reload, etc but they are tougher and have sprint. Well worth the small additional fee, than the standard ones have. FYI think vanilla US Mortars and MGs suck and need to be looked at.

AB ATG- Biggest flaw in getting AT is dragging it to the battlefield on a bigger map. Takes a while. Air drop ATG lets you drop it closer. SO i like it.

Armor- 3 m10s, croc, sherman, and quad cal. Wish i had more MP. Got alot of fuel left. And wish EIR would let me undo resource advantages.Any tips?

Call in- my first call in is a sherman, standard inf, ATG, and MG. I use this so i can cap plus throw off the enemy. Use my AB when they least expect it.  Plus i find the AB drop to be slow as hell. So its not like i lose the initiative that commandos gliders will get.

I plan to unlock ghillie and medic.

But how do i use AB rifleman? Their LMG is kind of crappy, and give them the expensive RR (180 each) and they can only do descent damage to armor, but suck against standard inf. then.

I do keep 2 or 3 AB RR handy for when a tank is healing behind enemy lines or light vehicles are barraging. Do people use AB units more in their companies or just in cases where they want to get a drop on someone? Does anyone like the LMG or just use RR? Interested to see how their companies are and what tactics they use

And off topic can i redo any advantages?

tbh the lmg is like a weaker lmg42 and since its the same price and u dont get medkits it's kinda crappy as u said.

personally i tend to have 6-8 rr riflemen at least 2 on field at all times, 2 atgs in reserve for extra firepower and anti infantry vehicles to support.

after using the AB mortars a bit. They never hit anything. Maybe got 3 kills after 4 games. Maybe US mortars just sucks against axis?

You realise US mortars are actually good if you use them properly. Don't just sit them there and expect them to own. Make them barrage an area, after they get 3 or so shots off, move somewhere else. Rinse & Repeat.

well in most of the cases they were within distance of pinned units and was getting no hits. Maybe they were bugged and not firing correctly at them. I wasnt observing, just notice they had dozens of chances to get a kill and only saw 1.

Let me correct myself vanilla mortars do work fine with troops out in the open. But vsing housed or axis mortars they get owned.
But back to AB mortars ya they werent hitting anything.
Love the sprint though.

i somehow have the top AB mortar, i don't play AB too often and i dont get that many kills with it, but with its sprint it somehow always survives or gets kills. To be honest, I don't know how, so I can't really tell you how to use it. Mine is some weird fluke I think.

been using the AB mortars. And ya. Wow their aim is way off. Surprised they dont drop a mortar on themselves so bad.
