COH: Europe In Ruins

I'm seeing a lot of panthers lately, about 2/3 wm is running them (myself included!) and a few pe are running them as well.

As an allied player this is making me reconsider which type of armor I bring on field. I find that towards the end of the game I always see a panther make its way onto the field.

Panthers with APCR are quite good TBFH for they can Beat Pershings and aint afrade of anything

I've ALWAYS ran Panthers. I feel like I'm exposing myself if I don't have one in my Coy, specially when Croc Churchills and more importantly, Pershings come on the map :P

mine are for all the light vehicles personally.

it's called exaggeration perhaps? tbh i have no panthers in my coys. although i'm thinking of going back to panthers in my blitz, i did quite well with them. the extra sight, accuracy, damage, turret spin and penetration makes them rape machines. I kept one on for almost half a match one time.

when the us player is sending out T17s and m8s that easily circle my paks, which don't do enough damage, or tear up my grens, then I might as well bring on a panther rather than a P4 or upgun puma. my axis companies cant afford many paks because of the way they are set up.

I suppose, like mysthalin predicted, it's a shift in the metagame.

Use 2 PAKs, one behind the other, cheaper and more efficient.

Or an OSTWIND.

T17's can easily kill an Ostwind, they dodge the bullets much too easily and just circle strafe it like anything else.

oh and i run triple panther APCR works well.

uhh...no they can't, t-17s can't penetrate ostwinds from front or back

Aren't T17's and Staghounds the same? Well, my experience where I had an Ostwind killed did feature Staghounds, yes.

1v1 Ostwind would win against both T17 and Staghound

I think Staghound has more health than T17 though, so it would take longer for the Ostwind to kill it.

Also there's no way anything can circlestrafe an Ostwind.

On topic: From my experience, a panther's effectiveness depends entirely on how many enemy ATG's are on the field. Anything else it can handle, in Pershing's case it can at least kite.

 Just run when you see enemy infantry   .....

People use what is currently most OP lol.  That's why when all doctrines will be in and everything will be balanced real play can start because people won't take what is OP but what they like to play with.

Think t17's or m8's with HVAP could pentrate and prob kill an ostwind if there's enough of em.

there's a lot of panthers because they're better at handling the light vehicle spam than tigers, paks and schrecks are.

tbh you wanna tackle lv spam with a wehr coy, go ostwinds they tear 'em up pretty good.

just get an upgun puma , no need for panther vs lv

Yes ostwinds do work wonders against LVs, but I just feel safer with the panther, then I can take on LVs and any other armor the players will be tossing at me.

I'd want to see a replay where T17 takes on a puma 1v1
