i bought a 360 and ps3 collectors edition hopefully goes up in price so  i can sell it.
Been observing how some of these collectors boxes go up like 400% before the game is even released.  So investments?

If you look again, anyone who held on to their stocks got a fairly hefty net gain...

I just got i, downloading now.

I just hope they don't pull off another world's worst ending with this one (although compared to Mass Effect 3 even Borderlands 1 ended with Shakespearean flourish).

HA! Well compared to the effort one puts in to get entire story Borderlands 1 ending is fucking 6 hours continuous climax in comparison! :P

god, this game is tiring. I forgot how much it feels like it never ends. They plan the levels great, it's open enough to seem open world but things are laid out very well so that even while going through the openess, you stay within an intended path (or u get ur butt waxed by a higher level)

has some nice surprises in, i get the feeling this is going to be seriously epic and i'm only a level 12

at level 19 now, having ltos of fun.

the variety of enemies this time is really high, they're a lot smarter and will actually dodge your shots, sneak up behind you, have physical shields, take cover, throw grenades, rocks, there are more flying enemies this time around, enemies that go invisible on you, crazy robots,  and the humor is on point too lol

Borderlands is great though. The game can be summarized as a fast action shooter with rpg elements and a lot of dark humor but there is also much more skill customization than the first game and one million bazillion guns. That's why I always spend all my money on the slots for a chance to win epics.

Is it as good as the first part?

I watched some premium membership shoutcasts and it seems to be awesome. The animated user interface looks sweet the graphic has
still the flavour and the humor seems to be epic too.

It's better than the first game.

Title: Re: Borderlands 2
Post by: Tymathee on September 23, 2012, 02:59:45 pm
much better than the first. i mean ffs i have a grenade that transports itself to where i want it thrown that blows up into more grenades that cause the enemy to take extra elemental dmg.

then i have a grenade that makes an area around it deaa electrical damage for the duration that anything is in it, its epic.

or guns thta always do explosive dmg, or my deception ability lets me see the weak point of any enemy so i can alawys do a critical

and its more challenging as well. i've died alot...

Post by: Ahnungsloser on September 23, 2012, 03:27:19 pm
When I played the solo campaign I found the game pretty easy (There were some thougher parts but overall they were not a real big deal), the criticals allowed someone to do way to much damage. (But in the multiplayer it was more balanced)

Is it possible to pick up quest relevant items even if you have not selected the quest? In the first part I found it really stupid that when I lurked around and saw some shiny stuff that I could not pick up or activate and later on someone is telling you that you should move your ass back to pick/activate them.. .
I'm sure I will buy this game when it's cheaper.

I'm playing as Axton, I'm a stand and fight kinda guy, no rushing and shit, slow and purposeful approach with turret support and a combat rifle.

The weapons are... Interesting, there really is some interesting perks on some of the weapons. Using 4 rounds a shot for a rocket in a combat rifle. You fire as fast as you can click/pull the trigger on revolvers, Some get increasingly more accurate as you fire them. Fire from the hip gives you single or auto fire and zoomed in gives a burst or double tap on some rifles too.

Loot is finally auto picked up in some cases. Iriduim can be sold to gain Upgrades in Max ammo cap and backpack hold. It has come a hell of a long way tbh.

Really enjoying it so far tbh

Right. its crazy and i dont know if theres any different but rockets seem to have weight to them and dont just go straight the whole way and the rocket rocket guns are actually need now as they fire smaller rockets but in a spread, very cool.

I have a level 18 rocket from torgue that does over 4500 dmg, it's ridiculous, i hit hit most anything.

I've got a shotgun that works like a sniper rifle (Super high accuracy+scope). It's an orange item (the rarest) that is worth 8k when most items of that area never go beyond 1k.

Also the slot machines are dangerous, I have several times gone broke on them...

ooh, sounds fun. i'm an assassin, mmy standard load out is a sniper rifle, high damage rocket launcher, shotgun and a slag weapon (either grenade or gun).

Its a long campaign though omg, and so many side quests.

and so much loot, so so much loot! i need to start pla ying online and trading

Gearbox made the atrocities that are Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens: Colonial Marines. Don't feed the machine man.

Gearbox are.like EA except EA actually make their games and don't outsource them a millions times over 6 and 10 years of development.

Gearbox are a joke and quite frankly if you buy their games your ruining the games industry.

Gearbox picked up Duke from the previous developer to try and save the game....

Aliens was just terrible though.

Borderlands is a fun title, and worth $10

I don't doubt the quality of Borderlands. It most likely is a quality product to those who like the genre.

However, the company behind it are assholes. Both DNF and A:CM went through years of development hell to which I could write a few full blown essays on, but GBX had the resources and time to make both of them quality products. They did not. They outsourced, bled resources for their own projects and blatantly lied throughout development. They've even directly stolen design concepts from other people who they were actually going to work alongside.

Buying from a company that exercises those practices is only rewarding their efforts and encouraging them to keep it up. The only way they'll learn is by speaking with your wallet.

If you want to play their games that badly, there's means and ways which don't reward their idiocy.

Oh God, who the hell cares if some other games sucked, BL2 is a fun game.

There are a lot of game companies that make sucky games and some great ones, you pick and choose and hope they get it right next time, or dont buy that one game series and let it die, that's how you win, not by boycotting the whole company.

Title: Re: Borderlands 2

Borderlands 1-2 fun games. but at times it felt like the game went of for fucking ever. i know it's a RPG but having to walk to fast travel. and most guns from the vendors were useless. so it made money pretty much none sense.
