Title: Armor Company. (previously "Next Gen Vehicles) Post by: jackmccrack on January 14, 2009, 04:11:57 pm Next Generation Vehicles
A few different ideas for making NGV a worthwhile ability.
- Jeeps, Halftracks, Quads, M8s, M10s, Sherman variants, and Pershings. Tank Command - Tier 3. 19 CP.
Gyro Stabilized Turrets - New Tier 4. Replaces Superior Command. 30 CP.
- Shermans. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Tymathee on January 14, 2009, 04:17:17 pm huh?
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: jackmccrack on January 14, 2009, 04:26:41 pm Just a couple ideas.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Leaph on January 14, 2009, 04:33:59 pm It is a bit underused...but I think its more because OBM is so good, rather than NGV being bad. It's better than HEAT rounds :P.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Killer344 on January 14, 2009, 04:37:44 pm meh, after more than 80 games with my armor company, I could safely say that sherman + air superiority can be better than obm, you don´t need to repair when they don´t have at to damage it lol.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: gamesguy on January 14, 2009, 04:47:50 pm It is a bit underused...but I think its more because OBM is so good, rather than NGV being bad. It's better than HEAT rounds :P. Exactly. NGV gives 33% more damage and the turret rotation thing, HEAT rounds give 25% more damage and 15?% more penetration. NGV is overall superior, due to the fact that faster rof> more damage in this game when it comes to vehicle combat. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Killer344 on January 14, 2009, 04:50:36 pm yeah, but axis tanks don´t get damaged so easily as shermans...., that´s why obm rocks.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: CommanderNewbie on January 14, 2009, 04:59:41 pm It's better than HEAT rounds :P. It's not. Extra damage is a great deal more powerful than faster reload in the kind of battlefield environment where you rarely get a chance to snap off more than a single shot. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Bodybag2224-Armor on January 14, 2009, 05:24:37 pm It is a bit underused...but I think its more because OBM is so good, rather than NGV being bad. It's better than HEAT rounds :P. Exactly. NGV is overall superior, due to the fact that faster rof> more damage in this game when it comes to vehicle combat. It doesn't give you 33% more damage ffs, you fire more often but do the same amount of damage, and that is moot if you still bounce shots (YAY I effectively bounce shots off a tiger 33% more effectively!) Or miss the shot. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: jackmccrack on January 14, 2009, 07:20:53 pm A buff would be sweet for 2.0.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: AmPmTLS on January 14, 2009, 07:44:09 pm Its 33% more DPS (Damage Per Second), with the increase in speed and penetration you can control range and circle, you get more damage vs infantry and tanks as long as you don't run away after the first shot.
So for the Sherman, you can get in, start shooting, then hit Field Repairs if you need to repair. Used properly its very good. Between the t2 Tungsten Tipping and Next Gen Vehicles, you get more than a HEAT Round user in a close in brawl. I would advise you to get in close and brawl where the Axis heavy tanks are at a disadvantage. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. - Affects Jeeps, Halftracks, M8s, M10s, Sherman variants, and Pershings. I would seriously consider this over OBM. Accuracy buff would make the Sherman slaughter infantry more reliably, making it really nasty. A tank-sniper, if you will. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: AmPmTLS on January 15, 2009, 12:39:19 am I would actually prefer it as something more realistic.
Gyro Stabilized Turrets - +25% Movement Accuracy - +50% Turret Rotation - 20% lower Reload Time Affects the M4, M26, M8, M10 An advantage allied tanks actually had, in a way that combines well with the speed boost at vet 1 and allows them to take full advantage of slower axis turret rotation on the "Heavy" Tanks. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: jackmccrack on January 15, 2009, 01:38:53 am That sounds pretty cool, but you should keep the 25% less reload.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: jackmccrack on January 15, 2009, 11:51:02 am Main post updated considerably, let me know what you guys think.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: UnLimiTeD4 on January 15, 2009, 12:24:08 pm Would like something like
+20% turret rotation, turn speed, acceleration, moving accuracy and firespeed. I'm a complex person ;) Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Malevolence on January 15, 2009, 03:24:34 pm NGV is already amazing, no need for this in my opinion.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Draken on January 15, 2009, 03:25:50 pm Amazing but not enough, if u have choice between it and OBM.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Malevolence on January 15, 2009, 03:27:05 pm OBM is uber as well. It's a choice between longevity or damage output - axis almost always end up with damage output by default, so you may as well take damage output too.
I'd bet a blitz player would kill for NGV... Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Draken on January 15, 2009, 03:30:11 pm I'd bet a blitz and terror player would kill for Fixed ;-). Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Malevolence on January 15, 2009, 03:37:30 pm I didn't say they wouldn't do that, but NGV would be a godsend for axis tanks :p
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: AmPmTLS on January 15, 2009, 03:38:37 pm My bunkers can repair, WTB Next Gen skirted P4's or Tigers =)
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Malevolence on January 15, 2009, 03:40:11 pm Actually NGV KT would be pretty sick because it could actually, y'know, fire often enough to offset its horrible horrible accuracy.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Tymathee on January 15, 2009, 03:54:34 pm why not make the percentages lower yet, give it stuff all around? maybe like 5% faster Rof, 5% damage, 10% turret speed, 5% speed, 5% acceleration etc.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Draken on January 15, 2009, 04:13:16 pm why not make the percentages lower yet, give it stuff all around? maybe like 5% faster Rof, 5% damage, 10% turret speed, 5% speed, 5% acceleration etc. It sounds like t2 or t3. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Tymathee on January 15, 2009, 04:19:35 pm maybe, but thats just an idea. it doesnt have to be those numbers, it can be bigger but the fast is, if you say, add penetration, health, accuracy, etc to all of that, thats what i mean everything. Then that makes it a t4 and while it's not better at anyone thing, all the tanks are better tanks but wont be super powerful.
Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: UnLimiTeD4 on January 15, 2009, 04:33:43 pm Hmm, +5% to all combat stats and +10% to movement stats... sounds neat.
That would be +5% accuracy, damage, range, attack speed, supression, penetration, hitpoints and -5% incomming accuracy, damage, penetration while increasing turn speed, acceleration, decelleration, turret rotation, movement accuracy and maximum speed by 10%. Sounds pretty decent for a T4 to me. Actually, damage isn't needed for that, it would greatly bolster their combat effectiveness without adding certain strengths. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Post by: Tymathee on January 15, 2009, 04:48:17 pm yeah, doing it that way makes it a true next generation vehicles

The only problem is that this is a lot of coding for a lot of small bonuses, but I did borrow a few of your ideas. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Adding more damage to it does not make it miss or bounce any less often, so quit your red herrings, you do it in every thread. Title: Re: Next Gen Vehicles. Err, my tanks get off more than one shot quite often. You only do one shot snipes when you're kiting. You're not always kiting. Title: Re: Armor Company. (previously "Next Gen Vehicles) Post by: aloha628 on January 17, 2009, 03:06:19 pm uhm jack are u ok?
with this bullshit a sherman can kill a tiger !!!! (if upgunned and well microed, it can kill a panther right now) haha these skill are fucking OP Title: Re: Armor Company. (previously "Next Gen Vehicles) Post by: jackmccrack on January 17, 2009, 07:29:10 pm ROFL :o
Title: Re: Armor Company. (previously "Next Gen Vehicles) Post by: Killer344 on January 18, 2009, 01:49:51 am yeah... if the owner of the tiger/panther is extremely retarded :/.
Title: Re: Armor Company. (previously "Next Gen Vehicles) Post by: jackmccrack on January 19, 2009, 11:35:42 am These new abilities are cool as heck, folks!
