COH: Europe In Ruins

first of all: this is really a long shot and i have absolutely no idea if it could work. but anyway...

you can play vCOH on a LAN, right? and if you do so, you dont have to be connected to relic, right? would it be possible to establish a VPN and play EIR LAN based? this way we could all patch back to pre 2.400 and avoid the new anti cheat issue. we would also get some independence from relics future patches.

It used to work, thaely. It might still work but it's only a short-term solution.

I dont think requring our community to 'depatch' is the way to go :P.
Also, ever since OF AFAIK you have to go 'online' before you can play COH at all, so you'd be forced to get the patches.

true. it would be quite hard to recruit new players if they cant play vCOH at the same time. but on the other hand: i still wonder whether relic shot down the persistancy mods on purpose or if it was just ignorance. one thing im quite sure of though, is that if they release COH:O next year, they wont be too happy about some free mods if they should still be around. so it might be a question of time anyway. even after playing for a couple of weeks id prefer EIR without OF rather than vCOH...

Unfortunately, playing over a LAN no longer works (since... 2.3 I think?) and even then, it required all the scar files etc to be exposed.

And theres no way Im doing that ;)

Shame though, because this was the first thing I thought of.

lol yea i remember talking about that. I'm feeling bored and I think i'm going to try and find how they implemented the anti-cheat in their module just because i have nothing else to do.

Yes relic is epic fail there is new version of hack for 2.501, now that guy is just working on 3d maphack.

ok found a trainer and a no cd/dvd hack in less than ten minutes.

and now i've found the new cheat mod.

It´s a fixed exe/crack... and its for offline use only .....

That's what he sais, if he can hack the anti-cheat we should be able to hack it for mods to work just as well...
Either way, 'can't be bothered to make a new video' is a weak excuse when you didn't actually get it working, videos or it never happened.
