Title: Tov units in doctrine
Post by: nugnugx on June 06, 2009, 07:29:14 am
Since some of the ToV units are only doctrine specific i propose making a new single unit for every doctrine (or just reskinning an old one , giving it a name and different stats)  for various purposes so other doctrines are not left out.

im against 'new' units with different stats. that would imbalance it
OMG mod has those and it sucks

yes but some doctrines got the ToV units while others got nothing  , so they are "new"

right now when players make a new company he can choose armor because there is "new" 17 and inf got nothing new

or terror for new geshutzwagen , not def or blitz because they dont have any "new" "cooL :P" units

Whoever choses armor just for the T17 is a retard.

Same for Terror with GWG.

if your micro is insanely good, t17 can be killing machines
its not hard to get 10 kills on them, then its vet1 and u repaair it and u can keep it alive even longer (with vet1 health buff)

Which is made in line with each Doctrine now having 1 unique unit.

Infanty - Rangers
Armour - T17
Airborne - Airborne
All three get M18

Blitzkrieg - Stormtroopers
Terror - Geshutzwagon
Defensive - Stuka
All three get Schwimmenwagon (unarmed)

Royal Artillery - Mortar Pit
Royal Commandos - Commandos
Royal Engineers - Kangaroo
All three get Staghound

Luftwaffe - Fallschirmjagers
Scorched Earth - Support Scout (Healing scout car)
Tank Destroyers - Hetzer
All three get Schwimmenwagon (armed) AND Hotchkiss both varients

These are the unit unlocks for beginning Companies

if you put it this way there is some logic behind that  ;)

needing insane micro to just be cost effective doesn't show me a "useful" unit.
The micro level in EiR is great, but the T17 requires at least three times the ammount of micro than any other unit in the game INCLUDING the tetrarch to be cost effective.

Vet 1 is bugged and does absolutely nothing, actualy.
You need a lot of luck to have a cost effective T17, or to have 6 jeeps running around searching for a juicy no AT infantry target.

Definately 2 Gwagons.
You'll pay less fuel, a bit more manpower, but have 2 free MGs, and much better range than the panther.

Myst the MG suppression values changed on the Wagen. it's not it's busted super self anymore.

I understand, but two of them will still suppress fast enough, and it's still better than no MG at all ;).

Nuggie, you're an axis fanboy, and you posted a pic of a 66 kill StuH. IT's clear what kind of players that T17 was used against as well :P.
