and what happens when u get drunken idiots who have a gun,and decide to have some fun with that gun?!

Everyone is allowed to have a gun, what stops me to draw gun on someone, where we can't be seen,in order for him to draw his gun out ,and then just shoot him dead?

It's a basic principle. If everyone had a gun then why commit crimes if there is a high chance that you'll get shot. If someone opens fire then retaliation is swift, with justice. There wouldn't even need to be any "police".

Sharks are not monsters Henley, they are cute, cuddly and misunderstood. They love humans. sometimes they love TOO much. They love people so much that sometimes their kisses separate people into two flailing pieces which are consumed by other sharks in a frenzy of peace and joy.

Yea,I guess those country's which don't give guns to people to carry around street, and have low homicide/crime... rate are obviously doing something wrong  Roll Eyes

Why don't we go with basic principle, you commit crime, even steal a candy, and you get killed, simple like that. You would see how much crime would it be then. Okay, maybe just chop of hand he used to steal candy, but anything above that, death penalty!
Just a little blast from the past from my visit to Romania, Vlad Tepes aka impaler had quite rigorous ways to deal with crime, at his time, you could leave a goat at night in the middle of the street, and next day you would still find it.

Most people, and lets face it,most people are idiots, are simply not reliable enough to carry gun around. I for one wouldn't feel safe if I went outside in a club, full of drunken gunslinger idiots. Yea,there are fights, and to think that there wouldn't be shooting involved if they had guns is plain stupid.

Follow Canada's example, gun control based upon a registration system that requires an examination of ones mental state to pass.

How much good would that do in a country like USA?

Education is the counter point to gun violence. Alot of Gun violence is with illegal weapons. but there are still a large majority of gun related deaths with legal firearms too.

Canada uses a Restricted/Non-Restricted system. Things like Rifles and shotguns being Non restricted as long as they meet certain requirements(weapons for hunting and things)

Pistols or short barrel weapons are either restricted or prohibited.

Super strict laws wont accomplish much of anything but reasonable laws will. and a forced requirement to take a Nationally implemented gun control/use course. There just isn't a need for some of the weapons that people in some states own. It's simply absurd.

Sweden and England have strict gun laws, strict weapon import laws and extensive work against weapon smuggling and they have the lowest gun-related homicide rates in the world. Canada has five times as many.

Helps to be on an island where transients can't walk across the border to their gun toting neighbor through various hard to guard long borders, pick up a gun, walk back and preform a crime.

Sort of like how Europe is a peninsula to Asia.

*Suicide rate.

South Africa, El Salvador and Cote d'Ivoire had the highest homicide rates in 2005. The USA barely comes to 10% of the per-capita murder rate of those at the highest-end.

Mysthalins link is on murder not suicide. So Lithuania is indeed the country with the most suicides.

Didn't know Sweden was an island, but always cool to learn new things.

Do any of its neighbors have an extremely high gun per-capita ratio?

point still valid

Switzerland has an incredibly high gun per capita ratio and it neighbours France, Germany, Austria and Italy. Countries that do have strict gun laws and a lower gun per capita ratio than Sweden.
