Note the very first pic linked in that thread. Gee, that seems awfully familiar, I wonder where I've seen that before...

You are right, it DOES look like any map from Close Combat series.

EIR didn't really invent the concept of a warmap, if that's what you are referring to. It seems like its a singleplayer only experience? Unbelievable! There is so much money to be made with a proper MP adaption of EIR's concept.

Also, 40 euro is awfully steep for a SP only expansion

The CoH2 guys could take the EiRR name, logo, and hell, all assets if they wanted to and use them straight in CoH1/2.

After all, you technically don't own anything you make as a mod for a game, and the game dev's/producers etc hold the rights to it.

In fact, I kinda hope they use and abuse the EiRR concept, and a full game development team clocks on to the idea that EiRR style persistent MP gameplay is good times, so they make a full professional game out of it.

It's kind of why I'm so damned hyped about Alien: Isolation. It's a fantastic game, but more importantly it proves that an Alien franchise game CAN be done right. Opens the opportunity for the same or another development team to do a GOOD take on the Aliens franchise, rather than the laughing stock that was A:CM.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Eh, in my opinion coh2 keeps getting better as compared to launch, I ain't got no complaints.

However it is funny that the US expeditionary faction is made out almost entirely of units that were community made in CoH1 (Scott, M15A1, Slugger and so on). Can't have been entirely unintentional can it?

Jeez, instead of making the next half-assed campaign, they should finally fix the horrible zoom. I`d rather pay for that.
And yay, Persistency, what a groundbreaking mechanic that totally wasnt already in the coh1 campaign.

The COH1 campaign only let you rebuild units with vet 1-3 and only if you had base structures, and only a few of them per mission.

Hardly worth mentioning.
