i just finished the a rough draft of my intended map but i cant get it to pop up on the EIR multiplayer menu. i have the map on the EIR archives but its not showing. can someone who actually has playable map tell me how to set it up? here's the link to the map

<sigh> You don't test maps in EIR, you test them in VCOH.

They don't work in EIR because they aren't in the .module.

Stick it in My Documents\My Games\Companyofheroes\WW2\scenarios

I'll take a look at it and tell you what I think.

ok but its all manpower capture points since i dont intend to make it a VCOH map.

I downloaded it, and played it (before you posted those gorgeous screens) and this is what I think

(cracks knuckles)

Problems:
1. FILL OUT SCENARIO PROPERTIES NAOW!
2. Needs Custom weather
3. Some people may bitch about the size, although it seems fine to me. (ignore them)

Good things:
1. Pretty map. With some good lighting it could become beautiful, but the default lights are meh and you need new ones.
2. The rivers are fordable. Badass. It's the only way a map like this would work. Nice work.
3. Nice, blocky territories. They may need a little reshaping here and there, but overall it's a good job.

if anything it will make a good 1v1 i can work on a bigger vesion by making a stamp of the current map. I'm actually surprised i finished the map in less than 20 hours of work. i usually take longer making maps but this time i only worked on the map while waiting to get matches on EIR because you all know how long that can take.

this map should be fine then. i might have to add a little more cover near the rivers to allow tanks some cover.  at the same time i dont wanna narrow the options to cross. At guns would have a field day with this.

ok so now that i have it as an sga file how do i get it to work on EIR?
comanderholt told me that the dev's needed to add it to the mod? will one of the devs help me out?



and as far as bloom i decided to go with a dawn map so no bloom

Well commanderholt is correct, but seeing as how there are no devs around, we can't add it to the official module.  So here's what you need to do:

1. Have come people test it manually: Start the EiR launcher then open your EuropInRuins.module file and add 4p_Vengeance.sga to the end of the list of sgas.  Play the game. Unfortunately you have to do this every time you start the launcher because it overwrites the .module.

2.  Once we get some testing and feedback and it seems to be a strong beta.  I can add it to an existing map's .sga, thus allowing people to play it without the .module editing.

Yes, I knew what I was doing. No, it didn't work. Then again, getting 4p_Abbey to work was a bitch on VCOH...

I blame BOTB.
