I cannot connect to games, they are grayed out.  The people I was going to play with said there is something I have to do to get CoH on steam to work with EiR.  So, I was hoping that someone out there knows how to make this work.

Are you able to use the launcher?  If so, what happens when you run RelicCOH.exe from your COH directory?  There's an old post on how to get it to work with Steam - I'll try to find it...

» Start Steam
» Click on Games
» Right click on Company of Heroes, select Properties
» Click on Launch Options
» Add the parameters -dev -modname EuropeInRuins

I use a Steam CoH without problems. Just make sure EIR is in Valve/Steam/steamapps/common/company of heroes

You also have to make sure, you have the maps that they are hosting.

Put the Maps in your Europe In Ruins/Archives folder in your COH directory in steam.

Can someone please give me links to the correct versions of EiR / EiR Map Pack, because I have it installed into the right folder, but it still thinks I'm using a different version.

only reason they grey out is if you aren't launching EIR, or don't have the maps.

if you are launching it through steam and not the launcher, that will do it.

the maps go in steam-common-coh-eir-archives.  something like that, not in the regular coh eir archives folder.

I have the latest versions of the map pack, and EiR.  They are installed correctly, as far as I can tell.  When I launch EiR after downloading the battle files, All games are grayed out, not just specifically EiR games.

heh, I don't have a clue what's wrong.  Try playing a 1v1 with someone on a stock map just to see if it works?

Why you click Skirmish, do you have a win condition called Europe In Ruins?

I also don't see a EuropeInRuinsBattle.sga file in that Archives folder.  Maybe the launcher is not putting it in the right place for some reason (or you deleted the battle files).

Yeah, EiR is the win condition in skirmish, and everything else is disabled.   Hosting stock maps isn't working, either.

As I said, check your Archives folder for a file named: EuropeInRuinsBattle.sga - this file should be downloaded from the launcher and placed into the directory for every battle.

Try downloading the battlefiles manually (war control panel -> battle -> scroll down) and extracting them to the company of heroes directory.

Then do start -> run ->

"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\RelicCoH.exe" -modname EuropeinRuins
