Ok, so I'm not new to the game but I'm new to trying to get anything working for vista ( and it seems like everything needs to be fixed). Anyway, the standard "run as admin" works to get the updater running, and I got everything updated but when it prompts to launch it crashes in the same manner as it would had I run it originally without admin mode, and I don't know how to turn it on as you obviously, can't right click it.

Ofcourse you disabladed UAC?

You got 64x or 32x?

I have Vista x64 and Im running EiR launcher without any problems.

indeed disable UAC.

and i got vista 64 running too, no trouble.

only thing i renembered was with old EiR i had to change the path of the launcher(it sayd ''program files'' instead of ''program files (x86)''

Well I no longer have to open everything with admin which is great... But it is still crashing when I try to run the launcher from the updater.

My program path appears to be correct (what is with the 2nd program files crap anyway)

Lastly I am running a 64 bit OS

Oh and my apologies for it being in the wrong thread I could have sworn I put this in bugs...

Does it also crash when you try to run the launcher without the updater? (There should be a direct .exe in your folder)

I didn't install DX because I figured I didn't need it, having installed in enough already. Is this the problem?

Vista doesn't have some files from DX9.0C you need to "reinstall it".
