Eh, fire her up in skirmish mode. If you arn't in the mood to actually play, just surrender and say you want to view the map. Take a look around and report back Smiley

If by chance you do want to play it may take some finagling but all base building should fit at all start points

Okay I skirmished with it and here are four quick observations:

1. Great work!  The map is off to an excellent start!  I like the weather transition and the ambiance of the terrain/structures.

2. Graphical glitchs - One of the floating rubber rafts is on land, so it is bobbing up and down in the sand, just move it into the water.  The Higgins boats were filled with water.  Maybe raise them up height-wise a little.

3. Gameplay - I would suggest adding more groves, steep elevation, and rocks to constrain movement.  The map is very wide open, such that you can go almost everywhere.  As such, it is difficult to make any chokepoints or control areas.

4. Sectors - I would consider making sectors larger and decreasing their number.  It seemed like an awful lot of sectors to keep track of.  The attacker is going to be hard pressed to cap enough sectors to slow the tick of their VPs.

Good work!

Ya i figured the map needed a bit more movement blocking.

As far as the higgins boats go, they are down in the water as the models you can use appear to have no bottom. So they either appear full of sand, or full water.

I'll get on these suggestions shortly, thanks for the feedback Smiley

Edit: Kolath, teaching me to use the H key has opened a wealth of stuff, and btw the higgins boats work with the magic of the H key

That looks nice Wraith, are you making it for vCoH or for EiR? I'm currently busy on Juno Beach for vCoH (well, since I also added some OF stuff you'd probably also need OF...).
I'm not new on mapping, I just never posted them. Juno Beach is going to be the first.

Guess I am dragging the old girl out of the moth-ball fleet. I will be doing optimization over the next few days and finalizing the texture work.

I will be releasing a test version sometime this week and I will need some testers to help me check it out.

Also I need a guide to creating self-installing maps, and a guide to having multiple weather conditions.

This is by far one of the best maps you ever made.
Pass me the .sgb sometime and I'll have a look in the worldbuilder next week.

Don't worry about self-installer, do a .rar for now and we'll get this map build into Eir asap Wink.

Just ask if you need any help meeting the 8 requirements.

Done and Done

Play and enjoy, please just make sure to drop by this thread and let me know what you like and didn't like.

I really enjoyed making the map (most of the time) and I hope everyone enjoys playing it. I am headed to Vegas on vacation for a week, so get some games in and let me know. Smiley

No idea what else to do, all the files are named correctly and I followed the steps word for word.

Suggestions or it might just have to stay that way.

Send me the .sgb with all the files, except .BAKs. Smiley.
In addition, just had a 3vs3 on your map, was a lot of fun.

Loading screen is missing too.

Found the problme.

All your files are 6p_Sword_Beach.
Map loading screen, preview image & weather options however are 6p_Sword_ Beach (Note the space after _)! Smiley.

Very good map, but waaay too many sectors. The map could probably do with 12 sectors, but it got around 40. We played a 60 minute game and the ticker was still at about 900.

nice map but too big for 3v3 maybe cool for a 4v4 and hard to attack

It's fine for a 3vs3 imho.
The sector thing might be a little problem though, there really are too many Smiley.

(But imho it's not that anoying, it's just something that could've been improved)
