he probably interpreted it just different and meant by K98 the volks K98 that have only 1.2 longrange dps vs 1.22 of the buffed mp44 Grin

Maybe he took PE K98s and not Wehrmacht ones? They are pretty sucky overall

Not arguing semantics.

I'm saying I never ever take anything bob says at face value. Because more often than not his statements are either skewed or flat out incorrect in order to get his way to do something.

This is one of those cases where he just didn't want to buff the StG44 via doctrines.
