Thats my point though, automatch would work if you lower the % margin, the current hidden crap does not.  If someone doesnt want to play, they wont.  Regardless of the system.

Abandons are being tracked and we have a system planned to punish those who abandon games beyond reason...

Like I said you can do whatever you want to punish, but if they dont want to play the game they wont.  People play for fun and if they dont think the game will be fun they wont play.  Doesnt matter what kind of penalties you put in place.  Especially when your someone like me who really gives fuck all about vet.  I take it when I can get it but I dont fret when I lose a vet 3 unit.

hmm if everythingwas fair it'd be 50%vs50% and in math does 50 beat 50?No. There is no need to make everything absolutely fair, I mean if it was fair nobody would win. Keeping balance makes it so hard to find games now.  Keep the w/l thing and if someone doesn't want to play 75% win/loss they can leave. Some 33% ppl wouldn't mind playing a 90% person or 100% or 80%

Of course if you displayed the overall % as people joined then that would still let people know who they were playing and if the teams were stacked.

At least this way if someone wants a game then they just have to join up and take the heat.

The luxury of choosing your opponent in any conflict is rare, it's the nature of war and chaos.

Preying on the weak is the course of cowards, no? :-)

Fluffy has a point with the noobbashing, but I wouldn't mind playing the best of the best and losing. Cheesy I just want to have fun.

Yeah that's pretty much my point. If people want to play then they should be able to play regardless of skill or experience, after all the only way to gain experience is to play and to play against a better team will be an education  Wink

I think what really gets people worked up is those who deliberately stack games for easy Vet, RB and CP, it's no better than abusing the 1v1's of old.

but with vet it doesnt work that way. if 2 people with an average of vet1 go up say a combination of vet2/3 you dont need a crystal ball to know how that one will end.

Listen, ANTS & the hidden feature (of %'s too) go hand and hand, and are only the pre-cursor to an Automatch system that we'll soon be implementing.   The only players that dislike this system should be those that think the fairness percentage difference is too high, or don't like playing fair games.

Sure hope that there will be something other than automatch, because otherwise, being told who to play with or not being able to choose who you play with will take about 80% of the fun out of the mod (at least for me personally) an automatch is fine, but dont make that be the only way to play games.

In real war and in any ranked system getting to choose your opponents is close to unheard of.
