Twas me vs NinjaJesus.  IPMP game mode.  He surrouned me, destroyed me, and took all the territories, but when the victory timer finished he got the message "You have been defeated."  As I got the same message, this is a conundrum indeed.

Also, in a completely unrelated problem (i'm sure) by the end of the game I had a negative pop cap.  I was dismayed that I couldn't call in negative units.  Is this intentional or nay?

Heh, if the timer expired before he destroyed all your units, it calls it a 'tie'.  This does need to be resolved and I should probably do some checking in the game to see who looks like they are winning and assign a winner if possible.

As for your negative pop-cap.  It's entirely possible if you held no territory.

if the defender survived for the game then they should win since they held back the attackers for an hour.

No no no, if you watch the replay you'll see that I got the "Capture more territory or you LOOSE!" message with about 8 minutes left.  I was supposed to capture more territory in 3 minutes.

Weird, if it was VP I can see it calling the wrong win condition, I see that error.  Can you post the scarlog.txt from this battle?

I believe the defender doesn't only need to survive to win. He either needs to whipe out the attacker or drop his VPs to 0 in VP mode.

He doesn't win if he survives.  If he survives it's a tie.  I didn't change the win condition.

in EIR Annihilation when the timer runs out the attacker seems to win but the defender should since they held off the attack.... either that or a tie should happen.

I can confirm this in my latest battle #44, we beat them in the last 20 seconds (annihilating their last units) but it still said we lost Tongue.

IPMP.

Also, at the very end of IPMP it gave me 159 popcap...

Okay.  I'll look into this.  IPMP works very strangely...  Was it after they were killed or still during the game?

Popcap turned into 159 near the end but the game wasn't over yet.

After I killed his last soldier it gave me a you are defeated message.
(Still had 20s on the game timer)

Okay, I think I see the problem with annihilation...  I'll be releasing another version later today with the fix... (well, maybe fix). 

It's impossible to know if that 159 is right unless I know the game time and how much territory % you had.  Wink

I'm guessing 59 minutes 40 seconds, and you had about 90% of the territory... let me do the long math...

err... It should cap at the max population allowed, currently 55 I think... I'll look into it thanks.

same thing happend with bonte and me i had 22 para squads left and he got like 200 pop cap and he capped all the territory and i went into the negative at the end i was -400
