Rough Sketch of meta game development (OP stuff not included)

1. Game revolved around "balanced" companies.

2. Light Vehicle Revolution over runs ATG, dodges schrecks and light ATG support kills medium tanks.

"Dark Ages of random spam & OP stuff"

3. Medium tank spam to counter Light Vehicle Revolution

"Now to recent EIRR history"

4. Infantry + ATG spam to counter medium tank spam, was shut down by uber ATG spam.

5. Emergence of Super heavies to deal with ATG (apparently, the solution to fighting ATGs is not to use infantry/flanking, but to bring something heavier!)

5a. Evolution continued with new doctrine abilities, culminating in a lot of elite infantry usage.

Proposal for Allies:

i. Go back to spamming light vehicles (M8s/T17s/50calHTs) to beat KCH.
ii. Spam ATG with AP rounds
iii. M10... because it is pointless to use shermans currently.

Interestingly metagame constantly changes but that doesn't mean that old company builds are invalidated. It simply means that it cannot work in the current environment but may become valid again.

i.e. USA in Middle East. 5.56mm was useful in vietnam war... would still be useful in similar environments but having a standard battle rifle calibre (i.e. 30-06, 7.92mm, 7.62mm) can simply travel further than 300m would work better.

Situations change and you adapt to it, but that doesn't mean old strategies don't work. Volkspam/riflespam, light vehicle spam, medium tank spam, <insert whatever> still works but it depends on the enemy you're facing.

In other words, don't bring a knife to a gunfight.

Well, that's when you have so much volks that you've got more men than they got bullets  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

so what should axis use, spam inf and  support them with P4's?

Not really, you can use what you like to be honest... but players opted to use Super Heavies and Elite Inf (from what I can see... and its working well)

For myself, I simply use infantry & snipers. Arty (hotchkiss, nebel, mortar, hummel [not sure how good it is, never used it]) is a good counter, so are P4s.

There really is a plethora of options available.
