What map was it on, do you remember?
This is the biggest problem with new members trying to get games going without using ventrillo, they usually get lost somewhere between the process of getting in a game on the launcher and actually getting into the game itself.
This is why vent is strongly recommended, people will be more than happy to guide you through the process.
At least it is and will be strongly recommended untill the launcher notifies users what they have to do
