I've been noticing the EiR website is very laggy lately when loading pages, and in addition in the past two days I've run into two FastCGI errors when loading pages here.

In addition, if this site and the launcher are hosted on the same server, it may be related to how out of the last two battles I've played, both of them were unplayable the first time (sync error and crash to desktop subsequently with Relic error report submission ready to go). I've identified this problem as being due to a borked battle file size (under 1 kb).

Could these two things be related? Is the server being overloaded and stuffing up the battle files?

We are serious about enforcing this, and I am sure you all want to be able to have your balance thought considered by the development team with some biased, sensationalist coming into your thread and ruining it.

Synch error could be related to a mismatched battlefile, or a 1kb one.

Im in the process of re-writting the battle-writing part.

The problem with it is, if one person requests the file, and then *in the middle of the packing* someone ELSE does, it will attempt to write to the same file - resulting in a borked file.

Theres a fair bit of errors to fix there.  So, in practice, just keep to the 'Host hits click, tells everyone else to click 5 seconds later' method for now.

The FastCGI errors are happening when (for whatever reason) something fails.  The thing here is, the server isnt actually under any stress (as far as my performance monitoring says)

We'll look into it soon

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.
