I was going to put a company together, but I can't afford 1 little croc.

Having read the replies it looks like most people are going to go hardcore infantry.

I wanted a croc and i'm upset i can't afford one. Sad

The devs have said that the resources you've been given to make a sample company here are a lot less than you'd actually get in the final mod.  These small companies are just for their testing.  So although you can't afford a Croc or two Panzershreks here, that doesn't mean you won't be able to field that stuff in the final mod.

I think thats it. My number could be wrong did in my head and i'm at work

Also the only armour you really need to worry about from Axis is SdKfz 234 armoured cars and StuH 42's. The accuracy on StuG IV's versus infantry is quite poor in patch 1.5, so you can safely mob a StuG IV with Rangers and take it down. If a StuH 42 or SdKfz 234 shows up, you'd better have an M1 57mm around to deal with... or have lots of Rangers.
