I haven't gotten to play the beta yet, but I have an Idea that might be usefull.

What if you had a bank of units in your company and you could deploy them as you needed too?

If you didn't have to put all of your units into the battle at once you could first use some units to scout ahead and bring in forces to react to what you see. This could make the battles a bit longer and let them build up like in vanella CoH.

Edit: I guess raddish had an Idea prettymuch like this too, but with a large company bank that you can select your 30pop worth of units from.

Well, we are planning on implementing reinforcements that can be sent in from the moment you're suffering losses with your starting army.

This would really lenghten the action seen in an average game and contribute to the experience.

And in theory it's very simular to your idea, you won't have all your units ingame right away, you'll decide the forces you start with (worth 30 pop cap.) and then when you're losing units and when you believe you can still have reinforcements make a difference, you can call pre-defined units in to aid out.

(But ofcourse, if you're sure you stand no chance, even with the possible reinforcements, it's better if you don't send in those reinforcements just to see them getting killed Smiley)

But anyway, thanks for contributing with this idea! Smiley

Actually I thought of it while watching Band of Brothers*. (The one were they destroy an SS company trying to flank Battalion HQ with about a platoon)

Looks like I'm not the first to think of this though.

*Due to a huge amount of snowfall in southwestern Manitoba I got 2 snowdays in a row! Smiley This is WAY better than "cold weather days" (if the temperater goes under -50C we get the day off too, we've had about 4 of those this year)

My guess right now is that you can still Call in Backup storms if you blitz if you have them in reserve (as in not selected for assault) So I guess you do kinda get some backup since Storms are good all around troops :/

hmm, this is still a useful idea and it would be an effective way of limiting the forces in a battle at one time.
