Split from the thread on Improved Barrels.

Actually, it [vehicle cover] used to be all American tanks other than things that could by Smoke, now even those benefit from it.

Post #218. It was supposed to be implemented, but it wasn't. Unless the EIR devs changed something or Yurdle is wrong, quite a few American and every single British vehicle lack vehicle cover bonuses.
Did an EIR dev implement vehicle cover independently from vCOH? Is Yurdle wrong? If not, could the devs do so for every Allied vehicle (including howitzers and the British), much like the current status for PE/Wehr?
I mean, seriously, even the Flak88 gets vehicle cover, if Yurdle's to be believed.

I believe the devs implemented it for shermans a while back.
Its really a minor issue though. Realistically vehicle cover almost never comes into play. When was the last time you sat your tank stationary and had a face to face duel with another one?

Ok, according to these two posts, the Sherman now has vehicle cover (it doesn't specify if all US Sherman variants have vehicle cover or not, though).
The two posts also confirm that the Wehrmacht has vehicle cover for every single vehicle they have, including the Flak88 and Nebelwerfer.
Nothing is stated about British Units or PE units. We need a check on that...

Negative. Vehicle cover is when you park your vehicle in a crater and get 25% dodge bonus.
You can do it by sitting behind the wreck of another vehicle too.
ATG rounds hitting sandbags is something different. Weapons in COH are magical, if they calculate a hit, they will always home in on your tank, go through buildings, through the ground, through another tank, nothing can stop a calculated hit from hitting your unit.
ATG rounds hitting sandbags is when the game calculates a miss against the target.

I just checked.
Every American vehicle has vehicle cover. I only checked sherman M10 jeep and T17).
No British vehicle has vehicle cover. I checked Cromwell, churchill, staghound, and bren.
Every PE vehicle has vehicle cover. I checked marder, hotchkiss, ATHT, IHT, and panther.
Every wehr vehicle has vehicle cover. I checked P4, stug, halftrack, and tiger.

Thanks, gamesguy.
Can the devs implement vehicle cover for the British, then?

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

No vehicle cover doesnt impact the game that much.
in vCoH allied vehicles dont get vehicle cover at all, and relic hasnt bothered to fix it because it really doesnt have much impact on gameplay or balance.
The main effect of vehicle cover is on 88s because you can put sandbags around them to get them that 25% dodge bonus. Thats the reason you put sandbags around 88s btw, not to "absorb" explosions or shots, because shot blocking doesnt exist, and the crew already has green cover. The sandbags give the 88 a 25% dodge bonus.

Like Gamesguy said, it won't have that big an impact. However, you'll probably notice it a bit more on British tanks versus American tanks because they tend to be better suited to the stop-shoot-stop-shoot instead of the American moving shots. Now you'll just get a slight bonus when you end up stopping to fire from a crater.

Well, i'm going to fire from craters more often now and stuff. That 25% I'm sure at times can be the difference between a hit and a miss.

What is the amount of vehicle cover bonus given to Vet 3 StuGs?

So it's another 25% dodge bonus on top of the basic 25% dodge bonus, combining to make a .5625 modifier to accuracy?
