hey there guys, been months on months since i visisted EiR and its a good thing u guys revived
Going to have to re-introduce myself to it due to the various changes brought, but I'd like to begin with a simple question.
If one is interested in playing as the Brits or Panzer, does he need the expansion pack?

Yes, because you need to be able to select that race in game. Without the expansions I don't believe you can and vice versa for bog standard CoH and Americans/Wehr.

However, once you reach rank 5 you can choose to have reinforcements from races you don't own the vCoH game for. So you could go American Airborne but add British Commando reinforcements to unlock

You don't technically, but you will not be able to access a lot of abilities, and weird things will happen bug-wise. I would not recommend trying it.
