Hey guys, I'm looking for someone to convert some 1v1 Relic maps into 2v2 for use in EIR.  Basically, what we've noticed is that the maps in vCOH are too big for our battles, they need to be smaller.  In addition to making lowering the amount of players, you could also change the sectors to a system that's more beneficial to EIR (see Road to Carenten).

Relic maps as in the campaign maps or the already existing multiplayer maps.

i'm mildly confused by this... i've found that bigger maps seem to suit EIR better. for example, I never play Pointe Du Hoc. My experience has been that you fight one or two battles and then you're at the enemy spawn.

the most suitable maps seem to be long, narrow ones: road to carentan, rails and metal, etc.

I've ALWAYS preferred large maps over small maps.  I think fighting 1v1s on 4p or 6p maps is excellent (or WAS excellent, before we got a game type that required you to capture territory).

With huge maps and small people the tactical options increase greatly, and firefights could happen at a shiteload more places than just the couple you see in a standard relic 1v1.

The issue is not the size of the map but the width.  As Shoe stated, long narrow maps are ideal.  We also want less sectors in most of our maps.  The standard 1v1 maps are very wide, but may be considered short for a 2v2.  Regardless, custom editing Relic maps, or any map for that matter, reducing the number of sectors and changing the number of players to better fit EiR is what we're looking for.

In the future, hopefully all EiR games would only be played on EiR maps.  If you're not sure specifically how to alter a map, make a post here and we can discuss it - see how players feel.

Also, I guess it should be noted that variety is highly welcome.  As such, some maps SHOULD be wide and short, to diversify game play.  However, on the whole, the standard map should be rectangular with more length (dimension from one faction's starting point to the other) than width, and less than half as many sectors than Relic maps.
