I managed to run it, update and enter the launcher then log in and create a battalion. Had to leave and come back to it later, now whenever i try and run the auto updater i get the "Could not download file list, please try again later" message. Anyone tell me what i've done wrong? it's been like this for 8 hours or so. Guessing it's a problem on my end that's magically appeared.

Try resetting your computer - the file that contains the download manifest sometimes gets locked up if you close the autoupdater before its done.
Come onto vent if you want help in person - and PM EIRRMod

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.
That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.
Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

I just fixed this problem. It was an issue with Internet Explorer and Firefox. I use firefox and so when my games quit autopatching one day I was lost on why. Finally tonight I opened IE and went to options, connections, checked my LAN settings and there it was, set to proxy 127.0.0.1. I am 99% certain a bout with one of those 'you're computer is infected, click here to buy a cure' malwares I had awhile back.
Anyway, Firefox would browse to anywhere and most games would update, but not APB or EIR. Now they do, hope it helps.

Atm, i successfully ran the autoupdater when i first downloaded it, it installed files for quite a long time and then i managed to run the launcher log in and set up a battalion etc. everything was working fine. Computer has been turned off between the changes. I came back to it a day later and ran the auto-updater to check if there are any new files, it repetedly fails to download the file list. Still should be no issue if i have all the files already. However when i run the launcher it now looks different and wont accept my login (changed from looking like the screenshots on the main page to looking like a "classified" document, from some of the videos i've seen...is this an old launcher version? if so...how'd i get it? :/ used the "download latest version" link to the left of the website. edit: version number is apparently 0.6.0d

Sadly the autoupdater downloaded from that link has the "could not download file list" problem :/. This has to be some error on my end i guess. Though with no notifications, and nothing that should be blocking the autoupdater from working, i can't really figure out what's up with it. (this is proving to be far harder to fix than i imagined :/)

Cleared the CoH folder of all EiR stuff. re-installed via EiRRsetup.exe. ran auto-update. did the "cannot download etc." Downloaded the updater from the link in the previous post in this thread and ran it but sitll gave the same message :/. Are there any know problems? would forwarding a port help at all etc.? Sorry to be such a hassle

Are you on vista? Try right clicking and run in adminstrator mode. And make sure the coh folder isn't write protected or something.

Managed to finally solve it >.>. Not sure what the problem was but formatting the drive and re-installing did the trick (even if it is a bit overkill :p)
