I just suck at using these guys. Whats the deal? I use them like Mp44s yet I find that they do a worse job.

Do I have to stand off a little and sit back more with them then I would with MP44s?

Do they have to be standing still for them to be effective?

How am I supposed to use them?

Sit them in cover and take advantage of their ambush bonus. They are like MP44s but with much better mid range accuracy.

the only reason they suck so much is coz they cost 75 muni for 4 guns in vcoh.

So basically I should have  mixed assault groups of MP44s and FG42s with my 44s running into the blob itself while the 42s stand just a little bit further out.

The damage caculator basically says that MP44s are better considering the purpose of both weapons.

well yeah, 4 mp44s are better than 4 fg42s. that's the whole point of this topic. THEY SUCK
and the falls only get 5 extra health over assault grens. their armour is the same.

fg42 stats should be changed so its waaay more effective at long range. also leth them buy the guns in two separate packages (like stormtroopers)
they could also receive airborne armour and the price should go up.

give PE some elite inf plz...

They should really be considered to be "Defensive" Elite Infantry. They are pretty crap at Assault duties with the lack of an ability to break suppression. Use the Assault Grens, they are basically the same performance when attacking an enemy position with cheaper cost and don't inflict so much penalty upon your Infantry supply.

Use them like you would as a LMG Gren Squad in normal combat (ie. at Range) and they should do very well. Take advantage of their Ambush ability by getting into light or (preferably) Heavy cover and have them on hold fire. You can almost vaporize passing infantry or support weapons with FG42s and even if it doesn't, it will often panic your opponent into mass retreating them.

@Leophone FG42s don't suck and plus they are better then MP44s, what talking about? Your link even prove you wrong on the point. Other then maybe upping their Mid-range range by 3 or 4 meters they are fine as is.

That DPS graph doesn't include the 25% extra damage and accuracy they get from their Ambush Bonus anyways.

I think Ambush Bonuses only last for the first couples of shots so it isn't that significant with FG42s in the short run, but since Falls have the tendency to pop right back into camo in cover in mid-fight, it can add up.

Needless to say it quite significant once Falls can get their hands on Panzershrecks...

Leo, quit asking to change unit stats, the devs stay away from doing that. they may change like their armor type but that's been only for tanks not infantry, they dont change guns unless there's two units doing the same thing for that faction (stuart, staghound).

and falls are elite infantry, look at the falls leaderboard, I suggest you PM Heartmann, he loves Falls and is just waiting for them to be implemented and he's really good with them.

Here it is Cuban. Falls are a very defensive unit. Always keep them in cover and try to camo them for an attack. Put them in a place the enemy would be vulnerable at and at close range rape them. Just remember to help your allies, if nobody comes to attack even if you try to bait them with a marder or such go flank with them. They will DOMINATE british infantry because FG42s punch through soldier armour like its nothing but they do have problems vs rangers and such.
