You gotta leave some area of mystique as to the winner. People won't download it if they know who wins.
It's hard to write good descriptions and I have not seen the replay but doesn't this sound better.

The unstoppable Allied advance continues to drive it's way across Europe. The Axis armies were on the retreat on every front.

Encountered a stiff defensive line in the town of Abbeville on the Somme. Held by the Axis battalions of

Command had diverted resources to the fighting near Amiens and Allied commanders were forced to use locale resources in taking the vital Abbeville railway line.

Man and machine alike were pushed to their limits. German engineering and ferocity were stressed against Allied resolve and vengeance. Reports are still coming in and the fighting is intense.
