You are downloading the game to your PC, where do you think it is going to install? The internets? That wouldn't even be possible.

You also do not have to run the game through steam. All you are doing is buying a game from the store. That's all. There's nothing special going on.

No, don't do patches through retail. You are downloading an already patched game.

It's installed in a different folder, that's not what I would call a special place.

Its a little different to other steam games - as in, you dont need to launch via steam.

Thus EIRR works fine Wink

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

The only games I've ever seen that require steam to launch are valve games which run on Steam and a select few games (most notably the recent CoDs) that use Steam as a form of DRM, and I buy basically everything I can on Steam.

Dude, when its done downaloding, its then installed by either steam, or through relics orignal setup.

After its done first check to see if

C:\Program Files\THQ

Has a folder called company of heroes or similair if so, EIR:R will basically auto point to it.

If there isnt, then check the

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common

If its installed there point the EIR:R installer there. Obviously with the "company of heroes" bit added to that line, or whatever the equivelent folder is called.

STEAM COMES FROM THE VERY DEPTHS OF HELL I SAY! But i have to use it, or i cant play legal versions of dawn of war 2 or nopoleons total war. Those games deserve to be payed for. Shit games dont Cheesy

Actually bad games do, as alot of time was spent making them. But some people just dont have the money to spend on them.

I bought COH from steam. COH:OF from a local store (DVD) because it had discount. TOV was from xfire store also because of value discount I had.

Once I installed COH with steam, I only had to put in the other expansion keys. Didn't install anything else.

COH patched with the latest version has all the content. Features are unlocked with the keys you have.

uninstalled all the Steam crap, which looked like a freaking mess to me.
then reinstalled Gold with my CD key and ran all updates. all ok now.
