So I was recently thinking of expanding my horizons in the direction of Royal Engineers. I've had the company or a while but I've only played maybe 2 games on it, and I did worse than usual (yes, that bad).
My question for you is this: which of the Churchill Tanks is best suited for EiR? Mark IV or Mark VI?

Get used to the Mk VI(6) the Mk 4 isn't surviving in the rework because it's a unit that exists only to eat ATG shots. It has no actually ability to kill anything except the odd infantryman and PE light vehicle.
The Mk 6 is survivable and has the Sherman gun as well as Tank shock. All around it's a good deal for breaking through things. Expect to maul Panzer IV's but try to avoid anything bigger. All things considered the Mk 6 is a healthy balance of tank and vehicle killing as well as infantry effectiveness. The Croc while super awesome at roasting infantry can't make use of Tank shock and it's main cannon isn't very usefull.

Back in vcoh... trlololol
Na, the Mk6 is your best bet. Ill spam Mk4s if Im out to see british shit explode (as in, suiciding ludicrous amounts of stuff), but generally, the Mk6 is your best choice to attack random shite. The Crocodile rapes inf and scares pretty much everything PE has short of the retarded heavy armor+panthers, and scares off pumas and, on rare occasion, damaged P4s as well.

croc is god damned amazing, especially if you go for hobarts funnies. i run 3 crocs and an avre, its one of the most fun companies ive ever had. it all depends on what you want to go for, get that T4 if you want crocs, there other T4 seems good to spam some support weapons. double t3s was alright. but man, hobarts is awesome. roasting infantry while sniping them is great.
dont get ablative armor though, it doesnt work yet.

I'm talking about normal bren carriers. When you fired a faust at one it would only remove like 1/16 of its health

AFAIK it did but it was not overrepair, just a simple HP boost so you could repair it back.
