Can't that just be fixed by upping the actual health of the gun like the 88 so it can survive normal shots without making it super vulnerable to arty?

88 can't survive atgs either.

but the 88 has 100 range and usually kills atgs in 2 hits.
flakvierling can't defend itself.

The Flakvierling blows, get over it. Stationary weapons without any real range are just wasted pop and easy food. You have to pair it with an 88 for it to be in any way useful, and even then you are better off with some normal support units.

I Use the Vierling and i love it, if you place it at a good place and have it supported with some sorta of AT the Flak can kill the inf that is attacking(rapes elite even more with middle t2) and slaugters any damadged Lvs with the middle t4
