You can be pro. Get cloaky units, and if the pop suppression fire, move away and cloak. Even if they were in a firefight, they'll crawl away and cloak after a few seconds, hopefully before the 400% suppression bit.

True that you cant dodge suppression, but its the same dealio as walking into an MG. Only thing is, you end up facing it on a mainline infantry unit.

Assault, on the other hand, is pretty much an insta decrew of any support weapon and any single infantry squad that youre not micromanaging at that time. If your screen isnt over the targeted squad its as good as dead.

Tell you what, I'll trade assault for suppression fire on grenadier MG42's, I think I'd get the most use out of the latter.

Also, the gren squads were both at medium range in yellow cover, what more can one ask for when assaulting an enemy squad?
