i was wondering, how do i make a loading screen for my coh map. i watch lootos tutorials on it and he said that it had to b by a certain length and width, can some1 tell me what it was cuz i couldnt figure that out on the video. and also is there a way to expand a image on using gimp? or would i have to get another photo editor?

to scale the image just right click the picture in gimp, go to image, click on scale image.
then, if the dimensions aren't the exact same (big chance) you have 2 choices:
1 - add black bars to your loading screen
2 - cut out parts of the image

for option one set either the width or height to the required size. make sure the chain button is CLOSED.
It is important which one you pick. you want one of the two lengths to be the correct value and the other length to be LESS than required. scale the image.

next, right click the image again, go to image, click on canvas size. on the popup you get, make sure the chain button is OPEN. now increase the width or height value that was less than required to the correct value and resize.

lastly, move your image to the center and add black bars to the empty created areas. using the bucket fill tool.



For option two set either the width or height to the required size. make sure the chain button is CLOSED.

next, right click the image again, go to image, click on canvas size. on the popup you get, make sure the chain button is OPEN. now reduce the width or height value that was more than required to the correct value. then move the image in the popup bar around so it fits nicely in the new size and resize.


also, when you add map preview pictures don't just copy paste the mapname_mm.tga to mapname_map_base.tga and mapname_map_slots.tga first open the _mm.tga in gimp and make sure the dimensions are 768x768
to  do so, just follow tutorial one above. but you don't have to add the black bars, you can also just keep it alpha channel

o no i opened it but i was helping some1 fix my coh map lol and then i ran into the problem with the crashing, and then i ran into another problem (i will place it in another thread). thx
