pls need any help with launcher under fresh win7 ultimate x64 install.

i have new notebook, which i obtained partially to be able to EIRR on my travels through asia. vCOH is working through simple copy/paste operation, however EIR launcher is giving me headaches.

So far I installed .NET redistributable 2.0, 3.5, 4.0, XNA 4.0, Direct X 9.0c

but still no go :/

did I miss something?

What exactly is the problem? What error are you getting?

autoupdater and eirlauncher set to run as admin.

after launching autoupdater, it checks all files up to date, after launch it simply crashes only with windows telling me  if it was installed correctly

I had the same error when I reset my system and I'm pretty sure that a missing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistrutable package was missing. (After I had installed my programm enviroments which install these packages it worked again).

Try to to install the new ones and it will maybe work.

now i remember, thats the one, c++ redistr.  it was same 2 years ago, will try shortly if it helps

Repost if the Visual Studio C++ Redistrutable Package was the cause of the error and put the name/version of the package you have installed in here, so
that other users can be helped with this thread if they have the same error.

fuck, still nothing, tried c++ 2010 redistr. this drives me crazy

Maybe you have installed the wrong package and it does only work with other ones.



Espacially that the core of the EIR-Launcher is a bit older you should give the 2008 version a try!

I have all this stuff installed because I need all these packages for other programms so I can't tell you which is the right one.
But...We're on the wrong way! I have deinstalled all the C++ packages and it still works, this means the error is not caused from a missing C++
package.

We should stop scamping your brandnew system with installing useless stuff I would recommend you just to reinstall Europe in Ruins. Maybe the launcher need some registry stuff or files which is not on your new machine because you just copied the game directory and not any other used directories.

To prevent any erros you should delete:

...Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\europeinruins
...Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\Savegames\EuropeInRuins

...Gamedirectory\EIRLauncher
...Gamedirectory\EuropeInRuins

OK, for future reference, I do not know how I finally did it?

but now, after all combinations of packages are installed, I redownloaded all EIRR again and it seems to be working. yay

Once a time I had to repair a computer and this machine fucking owned me. I dismounted every piece of hardware and replaced
everything piece by piece. After a lot of try I haven't found the cause of the error and stopped my neverending journey. Then
I rereassembled the complete  machine and suddenly this fucker starts to work... .


But who cares - It works now and you can gamble EIR:R again!
