On the T17 topic, think about the prices being paid there. I think its perfectly fine that a shrek clown car beats a t17. And to be fair, a t17 can penetrate an IHT, just not reliably. Which other doctrinal unlocks completely replace units that are mainstream across the faction? Also, the fact that I'm arguing not to buff the t17 is ridiculous, since if you buffed it at all I'd just use 30 of them, they are already amazing...
I can deal with T17's not getting through LV's (Literally anything above a HT but below a Medium), and that's fine. It still looks wonky, but it's something I can live with.
But HT's? 0.5 Penetration, which means with it's 0.4 at long range you've got a staggering 20% chance to penetrate a HT. Medium range is 0.6 which is 30%. Only at short range (Which is 10, aka humping distance) do you get the full 0.5 penetration. The long and medium range penetration (Which makes up 3/4 of it's range) is like saying a 75mm Sherman can penetrate a Tiger, just not reliably.
The T17 doesn't replace the Greyhound, it it kicks up the AI at the cost of not being able to engage any medium or light armour at all. Greyhounds can pick apart a wide variety of targets via hit and run or wolf packs - The T17 loses this.
To put it in perspective, the 20mm Puma has better medium and short range penetration than the T17 vs Allied HT's than the T17 does against Axis HT's.
Oh, and you couldn't use 30 of them even if you wanted to, 10 is the maximum with 11-12 at a stretch (Depending on advantages).
By no stretch of the imagination am I saying that T17's should be LV hunters. That'd be broken to all hell. I'm saying they shouldn't be constantly bouncing HT's because it looks stupid as fuck tbf.
