Welcome to CoH physics, or more accurately a lack thereof in a vast majority of cases.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

To be completely honest nothing came even close to this is 2006 when the game was released.

Tbf the physics in CoH are rudimentary at best, a lot of it is smoke and mirrors. The only parts which are actually affected by "Physics" are debris, ragdolls and a few vehicle parts which bob about such as destroyed main guns. The rest of it is solid damage models, pretty effects and clever use of damage and crit tables such as making it look like you've made a building structurally unsound enough to fall physically when in fact it has simply had the right crits rolled on it - Nothing at all to do with an actual physics engine.

Visually speaking? Yeah, it was pretty well ahead, especially as an RTS for it's time. I'd even say it was impressive for what it did. Mechanically speaking though? It probably wasn't very far ahead, if at all.

It's physics on it's debris in particular is hilarious tbh though, had an artillery shell go off on one side of Neuville to have a telephone post land in the opposing teams spawn point after about 10-20 seconds of flight time.

Also, the "Physics" are there, but they have zero influence on gameplay. No falling debris is going to damage a tank or squish some infantry for example.

ill always remember the time we were playing that 2v2, Hicks, and we all stopped to look at a log hovering in the middle of the battlefield.
