Just looked up k98 and remembered that scoped enfields are pretty good. So i decided to compare them both.
I always had the impression that they were too strong, but this

WTF?!

range 40!!! <= usually 35 for other rifles, not even G43 has this range

20 damage?
55% long range accuracy?
55% mid range accuracy?
70% short range accuracy?

cooldown of 2-3
range multiplier or 0,8/1,75

reload of 2
frequency of 10

ARE U GUYS SERIOUS?
just compare it to lets say k98 (dont do it) OR G43

I get the point that u want to give an anti infantry upgrade. Ok. fine.
IT has better accuracy then weapons that are specialised on lange. 55% on long range is pretty though.
^thats actually pretty good, BUT giving it 2x damage is insane. Its totally out of competetion.
Look if SMGs or STG44 have an insane damage output, then its one thing cause you are taking a high risk getting in an effective range.
(scoped stg44 are pretty strong defnitly. But they neither have 55% long range accuracy, you actually need additional pervitin pills to get that accuracy, nor a range of 40.)

look i like the idea of a weapon that is strong on long range, i mean really strong! And a chance of 55% to hit is really good. But adding the 2x damage is insane!!! AND the range of 40, the ability to even outrange enemies is also crazy but ok for a tier 2 unlock.

SO to sum it up.
40 range and 55% long range accuracy  (u are not taking such a high risk like with close combat weapons) is enough for a tier 2 unlock, that 2x damage has to get out.

Ick... So you're saying we should nerf Kar98's and their 20 damage per hit?

What is more spezialiced on long range than a SCOPED ENFIELD?

The officer is considerably better than a riflemen squad at carrying weapons. Officers have good accuracy so they will hit most targets.

I'm surprised that you haven't freaked out over the ability to get 40 range riffle grenades seeing as that freaked you out. You can just drive around your little Bren carrier and reliably hit units with an explosive as soon as they pop into sight range as long as there isn't a house in the way Tongue
tbh i just havent perceived them as too strong.

The rifle you are staring at is Volksgrenadier k98. They deal 10 damage per shot. If you want to compare the PROPER K98 you take the stormtrooper K98, yes that is the rifle the standard Grenadiers use. Yes they deal 15 damage per shot.

Rofl at the joke that mp40s mp44s/scoped need to take a risk of getting into range.

Every doctrine for axis bar defensive has some form of anti supression/sprint which allows you to close the distance instantly.

Was wondering who started this thread and boy was I not surprised.

but still u need to charge right into the enemy lines- sprint just reduces the time that u are under fire till u can fight

Yes ick and from memory scoped ens have terrible acc on the move, if they can even fire I forget.

They require you to be stationary and thus vulnerable to arty, mortars and vehicles

well you can move and fire with those things. and u have a moving accuracy modifier of 0,5 which is pretty normal

well ill just wait for hicks to bring his statistical genius.

But icky scoped enfields have been around for ages now, used alot and your the first to have an issue with them.

Why because they raped your vanilla volks or pgrens ?
Shouldnt a t2 unlock have that sort of power ?

With very few exceptions, infantry weaponry fire faster the closer you are to the target.

With Scoped Enfields, this is not the case. This is extremely important due to the degree of which this takes place.

Standard Enfields have 2 second cooldown as a base. This means they have a 2.69 second cooldown at long, 2.33 cooldown at medium and 1.96 cooldown at close range.

Scoped Enfields have 2-3 second cooldown as a base. That makes for 1.6 - 2.4 cooldown at long, 2 cooldown at medium, and a rather staggering 3.5 - 5.25 at close range.

Basically, if you get yourself into close range, the Scoped Enfield becomes nothing more than a standard Enfield for DPS, as everything but the damage (10 vs 20), cooldown (1.34L/1.16M/0.98S vs 0.8L/1M/1.75S) and long range accuracy (0.4 vs 0.54) is identical between the two. Considering you're looking at more or less twice as long cooldown at close range for a Scoped Enfield, you'll be using a pretty expensive standard Tommy squad in close quarters.

Long story short, if Scoped Enfields are giving you trouble, either close the distance or bring an equal investment. Assault Grenadiers should do the trick nicely. PzGrens with G43's should make a mess of them if you engage at medium to close range, considering the G43 gets major cooldown buffs the closer you get to the target.

Or just bring a vehicle.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.
