So, I have played around with this gun since an update moved the 88 to a T3 doctrine upgrade, and replaced the spot with this gun. I am curious if you guys think this gun is worth taking, and what strategies you use.

One thing I noticed, it this gun is very effective against guys in buildings; especially since you can shoot from just outside rifle fire range. The Axis Mortar is also pretty effective against guys in buildings, but I seem to have a lot of micro problem with them. For one, whenever I try to have them run from the enemy and the crew gets killed somehow anyway, the last guy retreats off the field with the precious equipment. If not for that I could just re-man the thing, but this never happens with the Le.IG 18. Also, this gun has some limited use against vehicles while the mortar does not.

The gun can turn the tide of any squad on squad battle, but then again so could simply fielding another squad instead. You definitely have to pick your battles with this thing. Another disappointing thing is there is no Fatherland Le.IG 18, and that extra man really comes in handy on the Pak38 which costs about the same. Also, the Le.IG has a cloak upgrade in one of the T4 upgrades, but the Pak38 can get the cloak much lower on the tree, and move while using it too.

Overall, it doesn't seem very good or bad to me, just mediocre. What do you guys think? Do you have some tactics you like using with this gun?

maybe there is a missunderstanding: the leig is an anti-infantry gun with a range of 60. In my eyes it performs good. I am just too stupid to use them right but i saw guys like xeo ending up with 50 kills on those things.

If a flak is great for killing tanks then this is the flak's little brother. Just rapes blobs.

Like any support weapon it requires good los snd to be setup before you intend on any action.

Destroys british inf without keep it moving, or lt sprint

Also iirc it has a rather large firing arc.

The only thing itll struggle against is rangers or AB

It used to shred inf blobs to meat pieces... then it got nerfed into oblivion. Not worth the price anymore.

It used to be fantastic when you ran it with the defencive officer and when it granted the damadge buff, used to be able to kill rangers at max splash range when vet3.
it still is able to rip some heavy shit out of infantry and having it along with a schwimvagon enables you to snipe ATGs with quite accuracy if you use the barrage option.

should be balanced by higher fuel cost and less munitions, like the nebel.
