I would say Axis. It's much easier handling tougher tanks and heavier weapons than the Allies' lighter and more micro orientated tanks and lack of elite infantry.

As Axis, you do not have to worry about Panzerschrecks, Nebels on possibly every opponent, heavy tanks (Unless it's an armor player, but then it's usually a Calliope). However, I find the Allies are much more rewarding. There's nothing like fending off superior infantry with piss poor .30 Cals, fragile Riflemen, and flimsy armored tanks. Not to mention you get better rewards as you go up the trees. Nothing the Axis have compare to the extremity of the Calliope and Howitzer artillery or the fact that getting a Pershing feels more much rewarding since the Allies don't have any comparable tank till they reach that point.

However, you will face Sticky bombs which are always a pain in the ass and Rangers which I believe have been nerfed.

Axis infantry are also easier to vet up as they can usually score more kills where. This is offset by BARs, which are probably the best handheld anti-infantry weapon. Personally, I see the Axis as being more fun to play early game, but Allies get progressively more fun to play as.

I have played axis more than i hae played allies, I have never used one of the super heavy tanks, but i like the variety in the axis unit choices it makes for a more customised company and and a lo more intersting platton choices that can excel at certain tasks, as long as you have the pop you can field a substantial counter to most things the allies can throw at you,  but with the lack of any sort of fire up you sometimes have to be vey careful when advancing since you dont have the 20 - 40 extra grens or volks to fall back on half the time.

Axis seems to be more specialized, so those who ARE good with Axis are VERY good.  The Allies are easier to play and understand, but they have a seemingly low 'topping-off point' where skilled players hit their maximum of just how good they can do.

PE/Brits is likely to tip this, as both of those teams are specialized, but incredibly effective if used properly.

I find allies hard becuse i am not very confortable with having loads of my units on at one time, so i get over run very easily when i play allies...
