Seriously China. What the fuck.

Google Translator on the forums: "When the generals do not want the soldiers is not a good soldier"

I'm pretty sure Europe in Ruins is way ahead of CoH Online in terms of gameplay.

Unfortunately, I don't read Chinese.

Also, why are there 4 female generals? It's like they're trying to pull in cash from hormones injected teenagers with female anime characters...

Quote from: Wikipedia
Company of Heroes Online is an MMO real-time strategy (RTS) computer game co-developed for Microsoft Windows by Relic Entertainment and Shanda. The game is to be released in China by 2008. Company of Heroes Online is going to be a completely persistent Company of Heroes campaign. Players will build their character up from private to general through new multiplayer cooperative missions, gameplay modes, and PvP combat across the battlefields of World War II. THQ has not disclosed any details about Company of Heroes Online being released outside Asia.

1) It will not be released outside of asia.

2) It seems like they are making it for asian audiences (female generals? I mean, come on!)

3) At BEST it will just be company of heroes, except you can gain medals and abilities as you rank up, like in CoD4 or BF2, only in RTS style, which means it's going to suck wang compared to EiR.

Of course you know asian people are going to draw animated-related things and cartoony warcraft characters just because americans love cartoonish stuff.

I wouldn't say thats Relics style. The concept are for CoH is a lot more realistic considering from the get go; CoH was going to be based on WW2 and take on the realistic look.

I just looked through the site and to start off, I believe that female soldier art is NOT CoH online. Probably a fan made one or something.

So far they've posted just the US and Wehrmacht factions, some units and abilities. No mention of the persistance function. Based on the information available it looks like just a chinese localisation of CoH.

The english press release mentions persistance, but I can't find that information on the chinese site. I could have missed it but it doesn't stand out.

I'm 90% certain the online/persistent/hero focus is to avoid piracy.

Piracy in hong kong and china is extremely normal, i live about 10 min walk from a 3 story building dedicated to fake and "non-original" games.

Also, I lost a game due to not enough anti-infantry units, so airborne get double damage at each vet level.

More changes to come.
