yep I dont want AI, I want human brains controlling things.  That is why I have NEVER been into any game that doesnt allow me to interact with other humans.  I dont like beating on a machine that has set rules and does this or that when I do something (cause and effect).  I like playing people, and knowing that I am either better or worse at the game than they are.  Smiley

Well spore is about playing god and evolving your faction/creature, i don't think you would like to have to wait every time your opponent "pauses" the game to design a new tank or building.

I don't think the RTS style battle side of it is advanced enough to warrant online PvP mode, since it is not its main aim.

The way I would have done it is this.

I would have it set so that you had to progress to a certain point, before you could go online to play.  During the online part you take your current faction/creature as is and play with it.  You build up your armies and play with ONLY the tech levels that you had prior to going into the game.  That way there is no pausing for creation of anything.  You go in with what you have and what you think you can win with.  In a way it would be like a card game (think Magic or Yugioh type card games).  You pick your deck, make it what you want and play with it, win or lose you made it; same idea here. I think it would be awesome to be able to go into a game and play other players and see what their creative minds have made.

Yes I know you can "expand" your knowledge of other cultuers/worlds through putting your shit up online but its not the same playing against it when the AI is controlling it.

The 10 hour play time sounds disappointing. I was hoping that it would take me days to evolve from one phase to the next. I'm actually more interested in the evolving rpg phase of the game, because i loved the game EVO Land of Eden so much.
