I really wouldn't make a bridge map, they are irritating in vCoH and unplayable in EiR. Basically your opponent will concentrate ever MG and AT gun they have at the crossings and the game stalemates as you wouldnt have enough Arti to dislodge them.

Also Worldbuilder is a total pain in the ass to use, its a 60+ hour commitment to make a map that is balanced and looks professional. If you are dead set on making a map, check out the Worldbuilder FAQ and the RelicWiki to help get started.

Also feel free to make use of the worldbuilder question center, it definately was helpful for me back when I had the patience to map.

This would be more of historical buffs such as myself and others serious chokepoints in some areas were a major issue for the allies or axis to overcome and no it wouldn't be just one bridge there would be several but would I think add some flavor to the map selection

Mapping is fun!

Cam51 had a really cool rhine crossing map: http://companyofheroes.filefront.com/file/The_Rhine;80004

EiR beta version: http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php/topic,1711.0.html

Another Rhine Crossing map: http://companyofheroes.filefront.com/file/Rhine_River_Crossing;91435

Emm... Did you ever release anything? I remember sending you some atmosphere settings, and you never responded.

Ya, it was called sword beach, unfortunately after all the beta testing I tried to convert it to an 8p and I broke it.

Honestly I am so burnt out with CoH at this point I have no desire to fix it. I have offered that anyone who wants to get it back to working order is welcome to affix their name to it as a co-designer.

I probably dropped 60 hours on the map, it was my baby, but eventually you just need time away. I'll look up the thread.

I think I still have a working version from before you broke it :p.

Would love to see it being used again, it's fine as a 3vs3.

I'll take a look at it when I've finished the first beta of 4p_Abbey.

I'll see if I can package up my version of Sword Beach so people can play it again for the time being =).
Could also look into making it a 4vs4 if that's what you truly want, let me know.

I thought 3v3 made it flow better ie no solid defensive walls, but people complained it was to big. I converted it so people could have the choice to play it as either.

It is still in the Map Database.  It should be in the Beta Map Pack.  There was a brief period where Draygon was going to revise it to work better for EiR.  But then Nobody, the author, got mad that we were changing his historically-accurate map, so we just stuck with leaving it as is.

a good map should have equal buildings and cover available to both sides.
Use the occasional tank trap in some places to make them only passable to infantry. tanks have to go around these obstacles so don't make them too big or else at guns will have easy kill zones.
