I fear that I may be full of useless ideas at the moment (that is to say, they may sound really good to me.  They may sound really good to you guys, even.  But they may be rediculously hard to implement, or so long term that they don't deserve thinking about just yet.)

This idea happenned as a tangent to my airborne division question, when I realised that planning any major airborne assault would require detailed knowledge of the enemy strengths and disposition.  We can see instances in WWII when good intel led to successful operations (Overlord, for example) or when bad intel led to a massacre (Market Garden, say).

(Note that this is, of course, not limited to airborne operations, or operations with airborne elements.  I recognise that intelligence is required in all aspects of warfare.)

Will there be ways of gaining intelligence.  With a special mission type, for example.  A commando raid to gather documents, perhaps?

that could conicide with the idea of supply raids, a small group of airbourne are sent to attack as german base with 5 targets, all optional, a fuel supply, a muntions, a train station or half track depo, collecting intell and blowing up the commanders house.

the axis could do similar raids with stromtoopers.

oh and the battle does not end till all the attcking units are killed or have retreated, do the ojectives wont end the game but they all have good thing if you destroy them. etc
