"Getting level 8's to play each other or even teams to play each other", what a wonderfull playerbase, wtf.

Make high lvl teams loose pps and 20% xp from all their units against noobie teams each time they loose, done, problem fixed, they'll think twice before retreating their vetted units early at least and give the noobies a chance to weaken their companies :p.

Doing this wouldn't change anything, because high level players are still going to beat actual newbies every time, but this would just encourage smurfers to grief other players.

The problem is the people.

Too many accounts running around, need to limit it to 2 per account, 1 allied, 1 axis, and that's it. Have it check IPs.

But Killer, Carrot is right, all it would do is encourage smurfing.

If you beat me with a fresh account, I'd say you earned it and I should be punished for it.

More? how exactly?, almost everyone I know is smurfing atm, even you.

and if they smurf it means they'll have to use fresh accounts = problem fixed, I won't have to deal with vet 3 armies and off map spam anymore.

I fully agree with this, but I doubt we'll ever see it implemented.

This is slightly off topic but, I'm not sure how the war map helps the situation. It might reset me before I have 200PPs (and I've stoped playing my terror account for a couple weeks now) lying around but I'm not sure how this helps the average person, in fact it might reset just as they get all their abilities. I'm not sure how many total resets folks are willing to play through, the game is already what 2 1/2 years old at least?

Really how fun is it going to be to level up that airborne or blitz or whatever company once the doctrines and balance are mostly finalized? For me personally, thankfully, I like to play lots of the factions, but I think most people only like a few. Think of it from an MMO perspective and how many times are you willing to level up a new character, let alone the same one over and over? How many wars are you willing to play through knowing that everything will just be reset in a couple months anyways? Right now units and doctrines change so much it's always fresh, always new, I don't know what the plans are down the road as things become more finalized to prevent everyone from just playing the same thing over and over, which to me would get boring.

It's hard to say since there is no war map, we don't know how long a war will take, even if designed to take a certain amount of time, anything left up to the players to decided is destined to defy the time line predicted. With the old territory system, some wars lasted a couple weeks, others lasted months, some never ended.

I think what I'm trying to say is relying on something that isn't implemented to solve some of the problems with the current system isn't the best solution IMHO. Although I don't agree 100% with some of the changes proposed it does look like there are some changes coming which I welcome to try out.

Lastly, I don't mean to sound ungrateful, it's just the war map is something that has been discussed since the inception of the mod over 2 years ago. It's like the carrot that has been dangled in front of many of us who've been here to whole time for so so long, only for the concept to get changed, modified and the work drooped by several different folks over the years who have attempted to design it.

That's all good and fine, but what happens if a smurf beats an average player?
If it's skilled player vs skilled player, then yes, the player with the 'best' company usually wins.
But if it's skilled (smurf) player vs average player (and the smurf is likely to win), then suddenly all these people are getting punished for losing to someone who's better than them. I just don;t see it working. Undecided

Nothing is perfect, and I'm talking about high lvl/pp discrepancies, not something like lvl4 vs lvl5.

My Airborne account is level 8, and yet I'd probably still get owned by 'pro' smurfs a majority of the time.
I just see it hurting a lot more than it would help.
