Launch using the EIRRLauncher.exe, this crash will always happen with the AutoUpdater.exe until EIRRMod fixes it.

Step out of the way. He'll keep going until he hits a wall, that being Akranadas. Let him go unmolested, his journey will take less time.

When I use the EIRRLauncher.exe it gives me the error right off the bat. When I used the autoupdater I could at least get to the launcher interface.

Make sure that you have EIR:R installed to the correct directory:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes
The AutoUpdater should be in this directory.
From here, you should have:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\EIRRLauncher
In this folder you should have EIRRLauncher.exe.

If you have Vista, make sure you run it as an administrator. That was my problem: solved courtesy of Stumpster!

I wasnt launching the game on steam (but yes i do have it) and I am running windows xp. I was running the EIRLauncher.exe from the directory itself rather then the shortcut and the game was still crashing when I would hit the Launch button (didnt screenshot the error yet - but it was a crash with Unable to continue operation - points to some win component). I am waiting for the new version to become available so I can redownload the whole thing. I also have redownloaded and installed the XNA 2.0. The only thing I havent tried was installing the EIR:R on my C: drive, since I keep all my games n D:. Is it that heavily directory dependent?

No, not at all. EIRRMod has his Company of Heroes in D:\. We should be putting a new AutoUpdater (1.1) out soon, download that, overwrite your old one in the Company of Heroes folder, and run the AutoUpdater.
