I don't think you need to touch Bergen. It's as good as it gets and by constantly trying to improve it you risk making it worse. (That's what happened to some of duck's maps :p)

you sux, If you got feedback, dont whant a change, tell me. Bastard

You have angered the duck. Beware Unknown when you go to sleep tonight...

Wait, what?

First of all the town is so cramped that hmgs are useless, which according to your past criteria ought to be a good thing. But then you say that the fields are so open an ATG can effectively lock them down, but your solution is to make them MORE open, which would simply make them and hmgs more powerful?

wtf?

First of all, I do not believe making any unit useless on a map is a criteria of a good map. I detest support weapons for promoting campy game-play, but removing them is NOT going to happen, which I specifically stated. I want a map to not be dominated by support weapons, not for the weapons to be unusable.
Secondly, I said the HMGs are unusable in the inner circle of buildings. Making the streets just a bit wider would remove the issue of the HMGs, as well as allowing for vehicles to enter the town without it becoming an instant death sentence. This would serve as a sort of counter-weight : the MGs would be more suitable at their role if put into the inner circle of buildings, but they would attain a new threat to avoid.
I don't think you understand my idea of open : I do not mean to remove the fences and hedges in the fields. I was implying, and Leophone understood, that the fields should be made bigger. And, in fact, a bigger map is worse for ATGs, as it is far harder to re-position them to fight a threat on the opposite flank if said flank is further away. Mostly, however, by saying that the ATGs can hit vehicles on either field from the town's side I was indicating the small size of the fields, and that I wish them to become bigger.

@Leophone :
What you could do is not have perfectly straight streets - why not put in a bit of a curve(most probably at the crossroads in the centre by the church, the road going across?) It could help with the AT guns being predominant after making the town more open. Not to mention that if you make the town more open, it would add a lot of space for circling the AT gun.

I do believe you should be continuing your work on the map. I mean, if the changes do prove to be bad for game-play, you can just keep a back-up of the current version somewhere and re-introduce it if things go sour.

thx for the feedback mysth,

and since i dont not have any problems with fixing some stuff on the map (pefect maps ftw ofcourse), unkn0wn does, a lot of people playing EiR have download limitations and our map lead sometimes get some complaints.

i will fix two other maps first, well see what unkown thinks about this one after that (how much plays it had got etc)
