Once you tread damage a vehicle, you can track the movement of the vehicle through the FOW by following the red text. This is the only time I've actually used it/had it happen to me so I would need to see it in a longer sequence or with a tank running away and not chased but just from this.... seems like an easy way to grief. http://www.xfire.com/video/285a10/

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

i know computer that isn't the issue... the issue is that the red words 'tread damaged' appear (seemingly) for the duration of it... meaning you can track the words in the FOW.

I don't think any text you see ingame follows the FOW rule. When units pick upgrades off the floor you see "Panzershreck" in white writing even in FOW.

Yeah but it fades in like 3 seconds. Haven't seen anything taking such a long time to fade like in that video from OP.

Yep, the thing here is that "Tread damaged", as it is a temporary debuff that doesn't show on the the model or unit picture (like engine damaged/destroyed), is set to show all the time as text over the tank. (At least I assume that's why it doesn't fade.)
