Comical but serious ideas designed for mindless entertainment:

Team Deathmatch - no territory capture and unlimited pop so you fight to the death
*************WITH A TIME LIMIT***********************************
The time limit is designed to prevent endless games. Highest score wins... or last team standing.

Deathmatch

..
...
.....
.......
The same except.......... no teams. Highest score within time limit wins.

I would love to see a deathmatch-type game mode included in this mod.

A "protect the buildings/unit" game mode would be cool.

Like... hypothetically... there's a a howitzer, a busted tank, and a casualty clearing station that must be protected by one team and destroyed bu the other with a time limit of 30 minutes.

Perhaps the "objectives" would be non player controlled special units (say, it were a stank, or an officer or something) that can't move/shoot and have special modifiers against off-map/on-map artillery to keep games from being 'lol off-maps killed the objective trololol!!!11!1'.

pop could be set at 30 by default and not go up or down

Another cool game mode would be a 'capture the point' type game where there's only one cappable sector 3/4ths of the way down the map from the attackers that needs to be held onto for something like, 35 minutes. In order for the attackers to win they'd need capture and hold the point for 5 minutes. Pop could initially be set at 30 pop for the defenders and 35 for the attackers. Perhaps pop could slowly rise for the attackers and defenders as the match progresses.

I don't know... I think game modes like that would be hella fun.

Could do a VP system where random VP's appear during combat and players would have to fight for these specific areas. Would encourage a lot more moving around rather than setting up a defense.  VP's could provide benefits that would be large enough to make attacking VP's viable, but not so large that they will give the person who captures it an instant win.

My favorite has always been how frontline works, in that regard I really do like the normal battles in EiR but, well...

Anyone here played WiC online? That was the best frontline online mode of any RTS ever.

The officer is considerably better than a riflemen squad at carrying weapons. Officers have good accuracy so they will hit most targets.

WiC is a great game, I used to play it a lot, all 3 game modes are perfect...

And I dont think any of those game modes would be good for EIRR...

Actually, the one I see working is the Control Point attack/defend one, but maybe that's just me...

Too easy.

Tower defense:
Axis gets to defend, allies get infantry only and 40 pop from the start Tongue

As Gamemodes they are hard to come by but heres one that might be fun as a scenario.

Airborne Assault.

Allied forces have nothing but Airborne droppable units like commandos, tetrachs, airborne, airborne riflemen etc.

All axis can only use infantry, light vehicles and very little medium armor. No heavy armor at all.

The two side combats over victory with Airborne having certain key places they have to conquer and axis have to destroy them.

This also can be arranged in Axis attack where axis attack versus nothing but paradroppable targets and allies cover i.e key buildings or bridges.

Chateau/HQ/bunker assault:

Very simple. Allies need to destroy a high health chateau/HQ/Bunker in the middle. If it gets demolished, axis loses. Would force axis to assault allies back if they spam arty, but also prevent them from leaving middle and push for the map for a early win. They'd have to defend it for the fulll length of the game.

I can see a lot of FUN being had with people trying to run in with demos or satchels Cheesy barbed wire ftw

Yeah calbanes, I mean - some people like smokaz are still yet to win a single game, even though they've been around here for years.

I could see myself spamming arty with allies supporting me. I mean who would attack it? Why not just sit back and spam arty on it and force the defenders to attack haha
